We’ve been trying to conceive for a solid year now and absolutely nothing is happening. I went to see my OB-GYN today for a follicle scan—that's how you say it, right?—and since I'm on day 13 of my cycle, the follicle is only 12mm. My doctor is actually starting to doubt if I'm even ovulating at all! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Help me out here!

So, how long are your cycles usually? If your periods are regular but just run a little longer—like, say, 30 to 35 days—then it’s totally possible your ovulation is just happening later in the month. If that's the case, then seeing a 12mm follicle on day 13 might actually be perfectly fine.
Seriously though, just keep going with the follicle monitoring and try not to spiral into a panic just yet.

Look, don't go spiraling into a depression just yet🙂. Even if you missed ovulation—which would be pretty out of left field if your periods are normally regular😕—there are ways to kickstart things. You’ll likely just get put on some kind of pill therapy.
By the way, how have you been doing with your weight? Did you drop a few pounds suddenly, or maybe deal with a ton of stress?

Weight is fine—I'm 5'11" and about 140 lbs. Stress? Honestly, could be!
Heading back to my OBGYN tomorrow for some follow-up tests...

Man, I am dying to know how this plays out!
Seriously, keep us posted—let us know if that follicle is actually growing.

👎 Today it’s sitting at 13.8 mm. Honestly? I’m not feeling great about it. My doctor actually scheduled an extra checkup for tomorrow just to play it safe...

I don't get it—if my period shows up every 32 days like clockwork, that means ovulation *has* to be happening, right? Or am I missing something obvious? 🤷

I know some people who've been trying for two years and still have nothing to show for it.
I don't really get what everyone's issue is, but congrats on deciding to actually look into the physiological side of why things aren't happening.
Everything is fine, just try to work on having that baby without all the pressure. 🙂 🙂 🙂

So, my sister and her guy have been trying for a baby for ages now too, and honestly, nothing yet. She had this one OBGYN who basically terrified her by claiming she wasn't even ovulating at all. But get this—he didn't even run the right tests before dropping a bombshell like that! So, naturally, she went to see a specialist instead. Turns out, she just missed ovulation one single month, but otherwise, everything is totally fine, she’s ovulating regularly, and the doctor said she's perfectly capable of getting pregnant. Still, nothing has happened yet. He did ask her if her job was super stressful, since that can be such a huge factor when you're trying to conceive. And truth be told, her job is incredibly high-stress. Just try not to let the worry eat you alive; sometimes these things just take time and a lot of patience. And hey, if the natural route doesn't work out, there are so many other fertility options out there. Hang in there, you got this!

So, today’s measurement hit 13.8 mm. My doctor suggested I try Klomifen... 😢

Laura Gomez31, seriously, don't freak out. I feel so bad seeing how many 🙂 posts you've already dumped in here, but just... take a breath...
Like someone else already pointed out above, it’s totally normal to have an anovulatory cycle every now and then—it's really nothing to lose sleep over.
Missing an ovulation is actually pretty easy to deal with, maybe with something like Klomifen. If you do end up going that route, just make sure your OBGYN keeps a close eye on you with ultrasounds to track follicle growth, just like they're doing now.
If the issue is something like high prolactin—which can also stall ovulation—that's usually handled with bromergon. It doesn't actually stimulate the ovulation itself, but it brings those prolactin levels back to normal, which then gets your cycles and ovulation back on track.
It's also relatively easy and cheap to track things yourself at home to see if you're actually ovulating, whether you're checking basal body temperature or using LH tests (you can find way more info on the Pregnancy subforum, specifically in the threads where all the girls trying to conceive hang out).
And I am being dead serious here—stop stressing yourself out so much. Nowadays, all of this stuff is actually pretty manageable 😉

What can you guys tell me about Clomiphene? What kind of side effects am I looking at?
