Moderating for Lucasfilm in the USA

First time posting here—and yeah, I’ve basically been on this forum since I was a kid—but honestly, Lucasfilm just sent my blood pressure through the roof.

Some people here, including the mods, clearly have no clue what a forum actually is or what moderation even means. And let me be clear: it doesn't mean frantically nuking posts just because you're too scared to hand out a ban to keep some "golden child" looking perfect.

What's the point of deleting everything? Is it to hide the misogyny, the chauvinism, the blatant lies, and all that unverified "info"? Just keeping things quiet so nobody gets blamed? No thanks. I stand by what I say, and I can handle a ban if I need one. I'd much rather people see who I actually am through my posts.

Can we get a list of topics that US-based users are actually allowed to debate without being silenced? Or is it only okay when every "topic" is just mindless small talk or people whining about who's getting screwed over?

From what I saw in that first post, there wasn't even a disclaimer saying "these are just opinions, don't comment or start a debate."

If you don't want to moderate, then step aside and let someone else do it. If you're just going to hide behind someone else's decisions, maybe you shouldn't be doing it at all...

Honestly, she doesn't even grasp what's going on in this forum, let alone how to moderate it, so she’s basically useless.

Real moderation isn't just nuking posts because you feel like it. It's about keeping the conversation on track, handing out warnings when necessary, and not constantly hiding behind excuses like "this isn't the place for this" just to pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows while nobody actually does their job.

So, this guy was basically threatening me with physical violence earlier—not exactly the most reasonable approach—and now suddenly he’s being crucified just because he shared an unpopular opinion about having unpopular opinions. ☕

He went too far.
Just because the topic is unpopular opinions doesn't mean there aren't limits—it doesn't give me a free pass to go in there and claim Hitler was actually a great guy or that the Holocaust was some kind of hoax. 😳
It’s the same for him—he shouldn't be suggesting that conception via rape is somehow just "conception under worse circumstances," nor should he be implying—directly or otherwise—that victims of sexual assault were actually asking for it.
Personally, I would have handed him a red card for such garbage, but I respect Ludic's decision to wrap things up by simply deleting those posts.

I can see perfectly well why she deleted those posts.

But what I don't get is why there's zero accountability for him!
Maybe next time he’ll actually think twice before posting such garbage🤷.
