Mouse compatibility?

I have a Logitech LX5 mouse that I picked up as part of a bundle with an S510 keyboard through my AT&T service contract.
Now, the scroll wheel has completely seized up. 😢 I attempted to open the casing to see if a simple cleaning would fix the issue, but I couldn't even get the chassis fully apart without struggling. 😳 Since there is a high probability I will snap the plastic housing if I try to force it open again, 🙂 I have a specific question: If I purchase an LX6, LX7, or LX8, will they be compatible with the existing wireless receiver that came with my current mouse and keyboard set? I am out of available USB ports, and it would be inefficient to buy a new mouse that requires its own dedicated dongle, leaving me with no room for my security key. 🙄

To be honest, my desk is a complete jungle of USB devices, which is why this was weighing on me... but I've moved past it. I already received a partial answer suggesting it's impossible to know for certain without actual testing. I had assumed there might be some mention of it buried deep within the technical specifications that an expert could point out.

You should really try reaching out to Best Buy to inquire about the mouse, or maybe even check with an importer or go straight through Logitech themselves... honestly, Logitech is such a wonderful, user-friendly company and their support team is absolutely top-notch, so if you go through them, you'll likely have a brand new kit delivered to your doorstep within just a few days...

By the way, if you're running into those annoying issues with USB ports (specifically that lack of available ones), you might be able to solve that whole headache by picking up a Lenovo 220 x monitor, since it actually comes equipped with four built-in USB hubs... 😁 🙂
