Mouse issues

Hey. So I picked up this new wireless mouse recently—you know the type, it’s got that little USB dongle you plug into your PC and runs on a single AA battery. Well, it died on me today. I swapped in a fresh battery, but absolutely nothing happens. It's just dead. Is that even possible? How does that work? It’s practically brand new...

Which specific model are we discussing?

The Logitech M205 in black... looks like the internal electronics just gave up the ghost. Probably some fried chips somewhere inside.

That doesn't necessarily mean anything, honestly; you really ought to sit down and actually read the manual regarding how to boot that mouse up properly. I had to physically move mine to another room entirely just to swap out the batteries, because, frankly, the whole process of re-plugging it and waiting for the system to recognize the hardware was such an absolute nightmare.

If that thing doesn't work, I'm just gonna smash it in the basement and drag it upstairs—if it still won't turn on, then we'll just have a hole in the wall instead 😍
