Not quite, just kidding.
Here’s the situation: I’m not sure if this is even worth reading about.
I was messing around with a kettlebell and tried to perform a "spaghetti" movement without warming up properly. Result: I heard a distinct pop in my right hip. I spent a few days limping, with pain radiating from my glute down to my calf, though it wasn't debilitating enough to stop me from walking. Still, I went to see my doctor because the sensation—and that sound—was unsettling; I was certain something had shifted out of place. The doctor didn't bother ordering any imaging. He just told me that as long as there's no numbness in my leg, it isn't serious and the pain would subside in about six weeks. To an extent, he was right. Three months later, the acute pain is gone; I can run and jump without issue.
However, when I sit hunched over for a while, the pain returns and radiates back down to my calf. It doesn't hit with the same intensity as it did immediately after the injury, but it isn't pleasant. I can no longer bend down all the way, and I have a nagging feeling that my hip looks slightly different than it used to.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? Do you think I should insist on getting an X-ray or an MRI? Can an X-ray even catch what happened here? What could it actually be—a slipped disc or something else?
Please help!
