My mouse isn't working

Therefore, I’ve been dealing with a dead mouse since yesterday. I went out and bought a brand-new one today, but even that isn't working 😢

My laptop has two functional USB ports (there are three total, but the third one is dead), and both of those work fine; I can charge a small Bluetooth speaker or plug in my phone without any issues

I did a bit of digging online and noticed there's a yellow warning triangle in my Device Manager. I tried uninstalling it and then ran a fresh driver update using Driver Booster, but nothing changed. The mouse is still unresponsive and that yellow triangle is still staring back at me 😢

Go check the manufacturer's site for that laptop and hunt down the chipset drivers. Basically, just let me know which specific model you're running.

Therefore, I tried connecting my phone to my laptop today. The connection seems fine since the phone starts charging, but absolutely nothing happens on the laptop side.
I then tried using a Micro SD adapter, but the laptop won't even recognize that either.

Rachel Ortiz56 hit the nail on the head. You really need to grab those drivers directly from your laptop manufacturer's website, because looking at "Device Manager," it's pretty clear that nothing is there for the USB controller or the LAN.
I've honestly never touched any "Driver Booster" type stuff—it's just total junk if you ask me.

ps: Even if the drivers are missing, you'll still see voltage at the USB ports, but they won't actually talk to the system.

I followed the instructions exactly as you laid them out, but I’m still hitting a wall. This error keeps popping up (see the screenshot below), and to make matters worse, the specific driver isn't even listed on the manufacturer's support page... I managed to track down a version online, but I have absolutely no clue how to actually run the installation.

Once I unzip the driver files, there isn't a single setup executable to be found.



Is it possible I caused some kind of hardware conflict by constantly plugging and unplugging things from my USB ports?
