Server data wiped/deleted

Greetings,

We use a shared drive at work—something akin to Dropbox or OneDrive—and I’ve managed to accidentally delete a Word document. I've been hunting for it, but it seems to have vanished into thin air. Does anyone have any insight into where it might be hiding, or is it simply gone for good?

Since nobody else is jumping in here, I’ll give it a shot. Fair warning: you probably won't like the answer.
The real question is for whoever manages that server at your office.
Just go ask your IT guy if they run regular backups of everything stored on that drive.
