Hey, back when I was a teenager, I was obsessed with Greek mythology. Then just yesterday, I happened to catch that Perseus flick, Clash of the Titans, on TV, and man, it totally sucked me right back into all that myth stuff. I’m looking for some solid recommendations: which movie to watch if you want more Greek mythology vibes? Let me know what you've got. Thanks!

Troy
Odyssey
Odyssey (TV series)
Clash of the Titans — you know, the one with that remake from a few years back and all those sequels (though you mentioned some before and I can't quite remember which ones you actually saw...

300 just in case you missed it... (the Spartans)

Jason and the Argonauts

Alexander the Great

And hey, maybe ask the mod to move this thread over to "recommendation: which movie to watch..."

I've watched Troy way too many times, and I've done both versions of 300, but thanks for the suggestions. Never heard of Odyssey or Jason and the Argonauts, though. Appreciate the tips, peace.

You’d be better off asking why someone would even bother with something like this... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061613/

I mean, if you actually have an interest in mythology, you should probably stick to reading the books rather than wasting your time on Hollywood movies...

I cannot recommend the Odyssey series starring Armand Assante highly enough. In my estimation, it stands as one of the premier adaptations of this kind of subject matter and arguably ranks among the finest fantasy productions ever made—even if it is technically a miniseries, I have always experienced it as one continuous, sweeping cinematic epic. It is a remarkably high-caliber piece of work, and I can't help but feel that modern studios simply don't bother making anything of this caliber anymore.
