I am quite uncertain as to how many of you actually follow NASCAR these days... I haven't happened to stumble upon a single thread dedicated to the sport lately (my apologies if I have somehow overlooked one)

What are your thoughts on whether "The GOAT" will manage to pull off a victory this season? Are you rooting for his success, or would you personally prefer to see a shift in the hierarchy?

Things are about to get intense. Hayden’s sitting on a 12-point lead, but honestly, there are only three guys who can realistically catch him—Rossi, Capirossi, and Biaggi (plus Predrosa if he’s actually feeling healthy again). We’ve got two races left on the calendar. If Rossi sweeps both, he might just snatch the title, though nothing is set in stone yet. If the American guy pulls a second-place finish, he walks away with another 2 points, which keeps him ahead. (25-20-16-13...)

Look, I wasn't asking for a data dump or a history lesson... Everything you just laid out is common knowledge to anyone who has even a passing interest in NASCAR. And as for your claim that only those specific drivers have a mathematical shot at overtaking Hayden? That's purely theoretical. In any practical sense, this championship battle is essentially a two-horse race between Rossi and Hayden; anything else would be a massive shocker.

I honestly don't get how anyone could find Valentino Rossi unlikable.

That whole thing is just fairy tales for kids... there are actual, legitimate reasons behind the drama elsewhere.

If you ask me, Rossi deserves every bit of success he gets. Huge respect to him and his dad.
