SuperSport really cleaned me out in record time... I placed a bet on Oklahoma vs Memphis going over 194.5 points and Chicago going over 93.5, and the slip shows it was paid out. Within five minutes, I realized nothing had actually been deducted from my account—no ticket history to speak of—so I tried again, only for the system to double the bet. Now I’m sitting here with two identical tickets. 🙂🙂

So Chicago hit over 93.5 points and I’m sitting here looking at my bet being marked as a winner... then five minutes later—get this—nothing changed. No payout, no updated ticket, nothing. So I go ahead and place the bet again, only to have it double up on me. Now I’ve just got two identical tickets sitting there. Great. 🙂🙂

I took the Oklahoma vs Memphis under 194.5. Memphis is basically a bunch of shooters—kind of like Miami, Houston, or Milwaukee—where they tend to cap out under 90 points. Specifically, Miami hit 86, Houston had 85, and Milwaukee put up 90. With Westbrook running things for Oklahoma today, I don't see them breaking 90 either. That's just my take...

Point totals can be a total lottery sometimes—I have a gut feeling this might push past the line, especially since I've noticed their matchups tend to hover right around that 194-195 mark. You might have been eyeing the Oklahoma moneyline, but the over feels just as risky to me; still, I figured the odds were better there, so let's give it a shot (and by "give it a shot," I mean we'll likely double our mistakes thanks to our favorite local sportsbook)

Philadelphia vs Detroit under 187.5 @1.85
Just two defensive squads here. The home team is likely missing their best guy for a while, and yeah, I'm talking about Bynum. They're also without Kwame, so they're pretty thin at center. These guys usually score a bit less than 91 points per game and mostly grind out wins through solid team defense—which isn't exactly shocking since they don't really have a massive superstar. On the other side, the visitors are one of the rougher teams, averaging just over 91 points themselves, and they rely heavily on defense too. Stuckey and Corey Maggette are questionable today. All in all, you've got two defensive-minded teams facing off, so it’s no surprise the odds dropped to @1.70 on Supersport and Pinnacle even lowered the line to 185.

If they played an extra quarter, maybe it would've hit the over.🤣

Just shoot them an email to get it voided; maybe beg them on your knees or something.
Then go check the scores. 😂

Today I’m watching the Denver margin for total points; if it stays under 99–101, I think playing an over might actually make sense. Miami looks pretty porous lately—they seem to defend opponent drives more with their eyes than actual effort, I guess. Wade is questionable with an injury, LeBron is being careful about saving energy for offense, and last night Chalmers was basically their guy with all the personal grit. They aren't nearly as aggressive as they were last year... Denver seems to have consolidated things though; they put together four wins before hitting a wall away at the Suns last time. That should be enough motivation to keep their momentum going at home, which I hope translates to scoring, especially since they have those two tough road trips coming up against the Spurs and the Grizzlies. So far at home, they’ve dropped 109 and 104, and they even put up 116 away at Miami, losing by just one shot. Hopefully, if they stick to that run-and-gun style and catch a little luck with their shooting percentage, they can see a real opening. A good reality check would be looking at how Memphis and the Clippers basically trampled them without much trouble.
If I'm off on the margin prediction, I'll probably need to rethink everything and look at other matchups. Just speaking as a fan here, but the outright win for Denver is definitely worth a look.

Rondo tweaked his knee midway through the third tonight and didn't go back in.
Rivers said he "had no idea" whether Rondo would play Thursday in Brooklyn.
So, just keep that in mind...

And finally, the two most convincing teams so far—those undefeated Knicks playing the Spurs. Honestly, you could probably make some money just picking the winners if you can nail all three; I'd much rather miss on an outright winner than poke my finger into the mess of these over/under bets. 😁 (though that Indiana game from the other night was enough to make me lose whatever hair I have left.)

The guy is basically the entire Rockets offense. He grabs about twenty shots every single night, so you just have to take the over on him. He’s already burned me twice—one day he hits half his shots, but hey, that's basketball. Sometimes an aggressive defense just messes with your rhythm...

Milwaukee vs Indiana – 1 – @ 1.57

Indiana was pretty disappointing yesterday. They had the game in their hands and then just completely lost their way without any real direction or a go-to guy on the floor. You can really feel the absence of Granger. Milwaukee is playing lights out too; they only lost to Boston (in a totally even matchup after that win) and a great Memphis team. I don't see how Indiana pulls anything off here.
On the flip side, the Pacers have been struggling, dropping games to Charlotte and Atlanta along with three other losses. Honestly, I think Milwaukee takes this, maybe even covering the spread on Pinnacle at -4 @ 1.926 if you're feeling gutsy...

Nice job 😁
Let's grab some more wins today!

Kirilenko (-14.5) Minnesota vs Charlotte @1.85
If Minnesota actually has even a prayer of winning tonight, Kirilenko is going to have to hunt down about 15 shots and play with that same intensity he showed against Dallas when he dropped 16, especially since they’re missing Pekovic today—who just put up 20 in a win two days ago—on top of all these other guys already sidelined by injuries. Plus, he'll probably have to log 40+ minutes because they don't have anyone else capable of playing small forward besides maybe Williams, and let's be honest, he's been absolute garbage all season.
I also think Kemba is going to fall short of that 17.5 line because he's facing Ridnour, Swerdrup, and likely Lee for part of the game, and none of them are exactly defensive maestros, particularly those first two who will likely see most of the action today.

Likewise, I highly doubt the Bobcats won't cover this handicap at least Minnesota (-7.5) vs Charlotte @1.85, and whether Minnesota even stands a chance depends entirely on how much Ridnour struggles and if Williams actually shows up on the court, though I wouldn't hold my breath. It's true they started off better than they have since 2001, but with only nine guys on the roster and two of them being completely useless (Amundson and Conroy), I seriously doubt they'll pull off anything memorable, so maybe even a Bobcats win @3.20 could actually happen ☕

Kirilenko 26, Kemba 22, and the Bobcats take it 😁

coppermaker4 said:I’m leaning toward the Oklahoma City Thunder under (100) being a solid play today, especially since they're running headfirst into that stifling Memphis Grizzlies defense. When you factor in Westbrook’s tendency to force shots blindly, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up getting outscored quite significantly. It’s worth noting they only managed 92 points in their last outing against a struggling Detroit squad. On the flip side, what do you all think about Westbrook going over (21)? Given how many attempts he typically takes—even if he's just shooting 30% from the field and picking up some free throws—he usually finds a way to get there.

In the end, I went ahead and played the Harden over and the Miami Heat/Lakers over, then swapped my OKC under for a full-game under instead. Honestly, I feel like a complete amateur for making that call. 🙂

Chris Bosh over 18.5

Denver’s interior defense is honestly a bit of a mess right now. Chris Bosh has looked absolutely stellar coming out of the season opener; sure, he was a little quiet last night, but his recent games have been consistently hitting the over. I can't quite figure out what's going on with Dwyane Wade lately. If he ends up sitting out tonight due to that injury, the entire load falls on LeBron James and Chris Bosh. I expect them both to go into overdrive just to avoid picking up a second straight loss. That said, if Wade actually suits up, I really think Chris Bosh could easily clear 20 points, especially since Denver's defense at the four and five spots is looking pretty porous.

Chris Bosh 19.5 over
LeBron James 27.5 over

Dwyane Wade isn't playing—the guys at SS just scratched him from my slip, so I can't tell if he's actually out or if they're just messing with me—whatever, the only ones I'm certain about for the over are Chris Bosh and LeBron James

Dwyane Wade is out. ESPN just scratched him from my slip, and I can't tell if he's actually sitting or they're just messing with the lines whenever they feel like it. Whatever. Only Bosh and LeBron James are locks for the over here.

On DraftKings, Bosh is sitting at 17.5

San Antonio Spurs - New York Knicks -5.5 1 @1.85
So, we’ve got two teams that have absolutely crushed their season openers. The visitors are still undefeated, but the Spurs have actually played two more games than they have. Honestly, the Knicks have looked pretty dangerous this season, but I don't think it's going to be easy for them to keep that streak alive playing out in San Antonio. I'm guessing Greg will just sort out the game plan pretty routinely; the Knicks aren't exactly known for having the most disciplined tactical approach anyway. Coming off that win against the Lakers and starting the season so strong, I really feel like the Spurs can keep this momentum rolling and take down the Knicks. Their team defense is looking sharp, and I honestly think if they play together, they can shut down Mel, who's basically the best scorer in the league right now, which would effectively neutralize the Knicks too.
Chris Bosh over 18.5 @1.85
It’s pretty obvious what’s happening here—Dwyane Wade is likely out tonight. Plus, LeBron James isn't forcing as many shots as he did in previous seasons, which makes sense since he has enough high-quality teammates now that he doesn't need to carry the whole load on drives and jumpers. Denver has one of the weakest defenses around, especially under the rim, particularly after Nenea left last season. Since he'll be matched up against Javale, I see Chris Bosh really exploiting this matchup. He's faster and has a killer perimeter shot, so I think he'll use that combo to hunt for buckets tonight. His role is probably going to be even more vital given that Dwyane Wade might be sidelined.

No Rodman... The Nets aren't going 10/10. For me, it's the bet of the month... that's their only real play, and I honestly don't see how they pull anything together without him—they're already struggling with their big men, and now the magic man is gone...

Detroit Pistons – Orlando Magic under 183 @ 2.040 Pinnacle 5/10

The margin is pretty thin here, but I guess I’m not afraid to take the under. I just don't see how this turns into some insane shootout for either side. Defense seems to be the better part of both rosters—or maybe I should say, the less terrible part, even if it sounds weird considering the Pistons are giving up 98 points a game on average. Still, their last few games show some movement, especially defensively; they held Oklahoma City Thunder to just 92 points, though they did give up 30 in the fourth. Meanwhile, the 76ers held Philly to 76 points, letting them grab only 34 in the first half. Offensively, the Magic are weaker than both these teams, especially without Jameer Nelson and Hedo Turkoglu in the lineup. Averaging 80 points on the road is honestly pathetic. Both teams play at a slow pace, their offensive rebounding is among the worst in the league, and free throw volume is low, plus the FT% isn't anything to write home about either. Basically, neither squad has a true pure shooter—Nate Afflalo might have potential, but he's been way too inconsistent early this season—who can just drop 25+ on any given night. They're mostly just blue-collar teams lacking real offensive firepower.

Team, I see you guys really know your stuff when it comes to the NBA, so let me pick your brains—do you think we could actually pull off an over on Andrei Kirilenko, James Harden, and Dwight Howard tonight? The Minnesota Timberwolves are missing half their roster; apparently they had to call up some random kid just to fill a spot because they're so short-handed. 🤷 My only worry is that Kirilenko has been playing massive minutes for three straight games now, so fatigue might finally catch up to him. Plus, those vultures over at SS keep hiking up the lines—it’s already sitting at 17.5. Harden is the engine for the Houston Rockets and puts up numbers every single night, but even they keep raising his line every time he lights it up. As for Howard, he should pretty much be able to drop 20+ against these scrubs who seem to score 100 points every game. Meanwhile, Carmelo Anthony might actually land in the under since Memphis plays solid defense if I recall correctly, and he wasn't exactly doing much against the Spurs last night either. 🤷 What are your thoughts?

Minnesota Timberwolves/Golden State Warriors (91,5)-Golden State Warriors over 1,85

The Golden State Warriors have won 8 of their last 10. Meanwhile, Minnesota is dealing with a massive injury crisis; I think only Andrei Kirilenko and Williams will actually suit up tonight. They’re missing Brandon Roy, José Barea, Nikola Peković, Chase Budinger, and apparently Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio too. For the Warriors, it looks like only Andrew Bogut is out. Honestly, the Timberwolves look exhausted since guys like Kirilenko and Luke Ridnour have been logging over 40 minutes these last three games. I'm expecting a lot of fast breaks and offensive rebounds, which should lead to some easy buckets for Golden State. This season, the Warriors have cleared this line in 6 out of 8 games. With David Lee, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Landry leading the way, they've got depth everywhere. I guess they'll cruise past this number and take down Minnesota easily.

José Barea, Brandon Roy, and Nikola Peković are all sidelined again today

Andrei Kirilenko is going to have to carry the weight of whatever crazy lines the oddsmakers set, 🤣 and today that looks like 17.5+ at 1.85 😁 It’s the exact same headache we saw two days ago; if the Timberwolves actually want to show up tonight, he’s going to be stuck playing 40+ minutes and needs to drop at least 20 points just to stay relevant. Sure, they brought in Josh Howard, but the guy literally just finished his first practice with the squad today, so given his projected minutes, I doubt he'll be much of a help to the team.
Stephen Curry could also easily go 19.5+ at 1.85, especially since he's facing a massive defensive hole in the Timberwolves' backcourt. He struggled a bit last game, only putting up 12, but before that, he was consistently hovering around the 19 mark, so I really think he'll blow past that number today.
The Timberwolves played a pretty pathetic game against the Bobcats last time out. Andrei Kirilenko was basically their only source of paint scoring, while the Bobcats racked up about ten blocks, the Timberwolves missed fifteen free throws, and yet they still managed to crawl within 10 centimeters of forcing overtime and grabbing a win thanks to Kirilenko's buckets. Meanwhile, the Warriors won their last one against Atlanta, 92-88, and they've taken the last two matchups between these two teams.
The Timberwolves have been looking pretty solid this season—actually, they've been excellent on defense. They're giving up about 88.5 points per game, whereas the Warriors are giving up 98.1. If they want to keep this kind of momentum, they’re going to have to lock in defensively again, which is why I'm eyeing Minnesota/Golden State Under 184.5 at 1.85 ☕
We also shouldn't completely overlook the Warriors at 2.15, because even though they're absolutely decimated by injuries right now, it feels like a waste not to take advantage of ☕that value
