Luis Scola over 15.5 1,85
So, looking at the Phoenix Suns vs. Houston Rockets matchup, we're talking about two teams that basically live and breathe offense. I’m expecting a total shootout here, probably north of 200 points. I decided to grab this pick because, man, the Suns have been absolutely terrible lately when it comes to defending the power forward spot—they're giving up like 23.5 points per game there. Given how good Luis Scola has been playing recently, I really think he could easily hit 20. Honestly, against a defense this porous, even just getting 16 points seems like a safe bet.
Chris Paul over 20.5
The LA Clippers are such a solid home team, and they're facing a Detroit Pistons squad that's been struggling big time on the road, especially out West. Detroit's defense is pretty much a sieve when it comes to guarding point guards, letting in about 18.5 points per game in that slot. Now, Chris Paul usually puts up at least 21.5 when he's at home, so against a weak defensive guard like what Detroit has, he should definitely clear this line. I'm guessing he gets his usual minutes, and I don't see a massive blowout happening since the Clippers haven't exactly been blowing everyone out this season.
Sacramento Kings - Minnesota Timberwolves 2 1,83
The Sacramento Kings have been finding their rhythm lately—I mean, that win over the Celtics a few days ago was pretty impressive. But, I've got my doubts today because their interior defense is arguably the worst in the league when it comes to protecting the paint. On the other side, the Timberwolves have Kevin Love, who's having an absolute MVP-caliber season, and he's going to feast in the paint against a Kings team that's just... well, they're terrible down low. Plus, Nikola Peković is playing better every single game, and he and Love are becoming the main offensive engines for Minnesota.
Rudy Gay over 19.5 1,85
Memphis is playing at home against a pretty shaky Washington Wizards team that's consistently one of the worst defensive units out there. The Wizards are giving up around 21 points per game specifically to guys playing in Rudy Gay's position, and since they lost Demps Young, they're even more vulnerable there. My only real worry is if it turns into a complete blowout, but I'm leaning towards wall & CO keeping things competitive enough for the starters to get what they need.
