Since doctors apparently can't just put their heads together for once and actually solve a problem collectively.
I’m 29, and for several years now, my platelet counts have been consistently low—doctors couldn't give me a straight answer despite running every test under the sun, from hepatitis markers to basically everything else you can imagine.
Around that same time, I started feeling this pressure in my chest that just keeps getting worse. Every single cardiac test came back fine—stress tests, EKGs, the whole nine yards.
Then high blood pressure entered the fray, and again, they have absolutely no clue why.
Is providing an actual diagnosis suddenly too much work for them?!!!
In the meantime, along with the blood pressure issues, a whole laundry list of other symptoms popped up—some kind of lump or gland right below my ear on my neck, pain radiating near my collarbone, dizziness, vertigo, shortness of breath, and some slight swelling in my ankles.
Back to the doctor, and once again, nothing.
Then my vision started failing me, and even with medication—taking 5 mg of Concor—my blood pressure frequently spikes to 150/100 almost every single day. One day, I ended up in the ER because the vertigo was so intense I literally couldn't stand up.
And what happened? All the results were "fine," they gave me some blood pressure meds, and sent me home.
The latest development is atrial fibrillation.
I honestly don't have the patience to sit around waiting for the next disaster—is it a heart attack coming next?!!
Has anyone else dealt with anything remotely similar?
