So, I’m looking to put together a PC that’s strictly for gaming—nothing else. My budget is sitting at around $7,000, though I might be able to stretch that a little if the parts really justify it. Just the tower, please; I don't need anything else included.

I’ve got zero interest in overclocking—just want things to run smoothly out of the box. Also, an SSD is a non-negotiable. I'll just order the components from wherever they happen to be in stock, so any major retailer or online shop is fine by me.

Does the outskirts actually need anything? Cash vs. cards—what's the move?

Forgot to mention above—had to edit this right after posting. ^^ Basically, I don't need anything from the suburbs, just the case, and I'll pay cash.

Also, if possible, let's throw in a 120GB SSD and a 1TB HDD.

Here IS a solid build configuration—check out the second post to see what Smartic put together. Just swap out that SSD for an OCZ Arc 100, which is my top pick. Also, go with the MSI version of the 390 graphics card.

If you want an optical drive too, that’ll be an extra $43...
1 x LG GH24NS DVD burner, DVD±RW, 24x DVD±R ,8x DL , 40x CD-R

Look, it's basically the same setup as Halek, just swapping in the MSI R9 390 gaming 8 g, which actually edges out the GTX970 right now...
