Hey there,
Since I'm being forced to pick up a new rig for work, I could use a little help picking out the parts. My requirements are pretty straightforward—web browsing and basic apps that don't demand massive resources—but I need everything to run smoothly across four monitors in extended desktop mode. So, I'm looking at a mid-range processor and a matching motherboard. For RAM, I'm thinking 8GB (though I suspect 4GB might actually cut it, so that's not a dealbreaker). As for the GPU, I assume it needs Eyefinity technology along with DisplayPort, HDMI, and maybe two DVI outputs or a DVI/VGA combo. I already have the monitors since I've been using two HP Thin clients—two of them, with two monitors each—but those clients have finally bit the dust, so I'm moving to a single tower driving all four screens. I'll just grab an SSD for now; from what I've looked into, it seems more sensible since I don't really need bulk storage, and I can always slap an HDD in later if the need arises.
My budget is roughly $3,500 to $4,000, so yeah, I'd appreciate any help or suggestions you guys have.😉
