I need to know how you guys handle new users coming from the same IP address. How can I be sure one of my family members doesn't get banned just because they signed up for this forum? We only have one computer in the house and we're already seeing bans—my boyfriend got hit. How are the moderators going to fix this kind of injustice?

Our system flags multiple accounts sharing the same unique IP address as being the same user,
and according to our rules, clones aren't allowed to post within the same threads.

Maybe try finding a boyfriend who actually knows how to behave if his main issue is getting banned? I hear Slack is more than happy to send pictures via DM, so maybe reach out to him for help. 😁

Look, we both got slapped with a ban because I posted a public warning about some creep—just trying to look out for everyone else—and he replied to the exact same thread. The mods obviously thought we were the same person. It's ridiculous.

My roommate and I shared a single computer for the forum for quite some time. She would manage her own threads, I’d handle mine, and we never ran into a single issue. To be safe and avoid accidentally posting under the wrong username, we simply used different browsers. Real trouble only starts when roommates begin backing each other up in discussions; at that point, it becomes nearly impossible to tell them apart from clone accounts.

I went ahead and looked into everything, checked the facts, and decided to lift the ban. We actually managed to hash things out privately and reached an understanding, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread now.
