New Windows update

I've got a new rig arriving soon, so I’m looking to finally ditch Windows XP once and for all. Now, look, I’m definitely not some high-level IT wizard or anything, so if anyone could walk me through the actual process of how to uninstall XP, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks

First off, you should probably check if your motherboard actually supports Windows 7 or Windows 7/8 so you don't run into a massive headache with driver compatibility later... I mean, there's nothing worse than a system that just won't cooperate, right? Also, what are we working with for the actual installation—do you have a DVD or a bootable USB drive ready to go?

You boot up the computer using a DVD or a USB drive containing Windows 7/8, then you just wipe the hard drive during the installation process. It’s really the only way to get rid of that old Windows XP...

That’s one way to handle it, but just keep in mind—he only formatted the C drive where his old macOS was sitting. He didn't touch any of the other partitions. If you're looking to wipe the slate completely clean, you can always go ahead and delete all the existing partitions (if you have them, of course) and just set up a new one or two however you like.
