So, like, a year ago I had my baby, and man, breastfeeding was just brutal... I had these awful, crusty sores on my nipples. Once I finally stopped nursing, everything seemed to clear up pretty fast. But then, about two months later, this weird little scab popped up on my right areola, and it just won't budge. It’s been months now... and the itching? Ugh, it is absolutely driving me crazy. It just won't go away. Has anyone dealt with this? Please help...

Look, honey, I really don't want to freak you out, but there is a specific type of breast cancer that presents with that exact symptom. It’s much more likely to be some kind of allergic reaction or skin irritation, but you seriously need to get checked out by a doctor immediately. Better safe than sorry—if it turns out to be something serious, catching it early is everything.

Please don't spiral or panic right now; just get an appointment and deal with it, whatever it ends up being.
