They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, though I find myself wondering if there's any substance left after all that copying.

My head is spinning with headaches

Nothing’s perfect about it, but it’s just so goofy, intimate, and soulful... it hits right in the (crazy aching) head.

...

As for Arcade Fire—I used to be obsessed with them back in the day, specifically during that Inmusic era around 2011 (I was still in college then!), and I still think they’re a truly beautiful band. But I just don't listen to them anymore. It feels like something got lost between us forever, like I tucked them away in a safe full of precious college memories that you probably shouldn't go digging through. 😁
It’s hard to explain, but there was a time when I actually *felt* those songs. Now? They don't mean much to me personally. I can look at them objectively and say, "Yeah, these are high-quality, worthwhile pieces of art," but I honestly don't have the heart to listen to them anymore because they feel so detached from my own emotions. Does that make sense?
I'm talking about their first two albums mostly. I wasn't quite as sentimental about The Suburbs, though they definitely have some great tracks. As for the newer stuff, I could barely get through it—they just stopped catching my interest.
I did absolutely love Neon Bible, especially Antichrist Television blues—the way the madness builds in that track until it just hits a climax, wow.

Calexico actually pulled off a pretty solid cover here Pitchfork, if you ask me. I dig it.
While Neon Bible is still my top pick for them, I’d say Intervention is probably their best work overall. Someone did a great job blending those tracks with clips from Battleship Potemkin.

Ashley Grant66 said:but I just can't listen to them anymore—it feels like that connection just vanished forever, like they're tucked away in some vault of college memories that's better left unopened 😁

If you give them another shot, though, they might actually hit you right in the feels again. You’ve gotta stay connected to your past—you need at least a little nostalgia, otherwise you're basically just denying who you are. It's like how that famous American author put it: "unsentimental people, no matter how smart, capable, or talented they may be, have always struck me as somehow lesser, even fundamentally flawed."

So, for that reason...

Man, it’s been way too long since I sat down and actually listened to them. They have such a killer way of picking through those strings—not just the physical ones, but those deep, soulful 🙂 vibes that only truly great music can pull out of you

Talk Talk – Ascension Day

This is the same group behind "It's my Life" and "Life's What you make IT". Honestly, Mark Hollis was such a versatile, talented musician.

With some subtle nods to Fleetwood Mac and a structure that feels almost as legendary as Tusk, one of today's top bands just passed the ultimate test—joining the ranks of the greats by dropping a brilliant double studio album. And honestly? One of the absolute funkiest tracks on there is...

King's X – Dogman

Some killer riffs here. Even the vocals hold their own. 👍
