I have a nagging suspicion that my laptop is relying entirely on its integrated graphics card; it seems to me that I haven't quite managed to install the correct driver for the NVIDIA GeForce 710
When I navigate to the properties menu, the system identifies the Display as a Mobile PC Display, yet under settings, it lists the Intel HD Graphics 4000

I actually went ahead and downloaded two different drivers specifically for that NVIDIA chip, but despite my efforts, the system still insists on reporting

I'm not entirely sure if the process is identical for laptops compared to desktops—it can be a bit different sometimes—but have you had a chance to check your BIOS to see if that NVIDIA GeForce 710 is actually enabled?

Well, the system has successfully recognized my graphics card now... however, I’ve encountered a bit of a snag: as soon as I configure the system to utilize the NVIDIA GeForce 710, my Start menu simply vanishes into thin air... any ideas?

Does anyone happen to know the proper way to configure the system to use my dedicated GPU while ensuring everything remains stable and functional?
The moment I attempt to prioritize the GeForce card, the Start menu and all my desktop icons disappear, leaving the entire interface looking quite bizarre and broken.

So, honestly, just give it a shot and see if you can track down those drivers... and then once you've done that, maybe try something else? I mean, my Start menu just completely vanished on me, and I have no clue if that actually has anything to do with the graphics card or if it's just some weird Windows bug acting up, but hey, give it a whirl and let me know how it goes, okay?

Could be a screen overflow. Maybe mess with the resolution, or just reboot the rig, or both. 🤷
