Honestly, with the way moderation has been handled on this site lately—turning what used to be a chill chat subforum into a playground for a few specific people to pick on others—I’m basically looking for a sanctuary elsewhere. I need a spot where I won't end up being the target of some random vendetta just for posting a comment.
I know the drill, though. No sockpuppet accounts, no rule-breaking, blah blah blah...

Also, hit me with that partial on off.

Just a little demonstration of how you guys moderate. Right after Sarah got banned, this kind of chatter starts popping up in the same thread:

The moderator Tisa isn't allowed to chime in on that. But we all know exactly what’s being implied, especially since we saw this exact pattern earlier today:

We all know who and what they're targeting here. Meanwhile, the whole crew in the off-topic section is just laughing and mocking everything... and apparently, that's perfectly fine and doesn't break any rules.

On the flip side, this specific post is an immediate strike and a ban:

It’s always the same story: people trying to have a decent conversation and defend their views get slapped with warnings, while the folks who haven't contributed a single meaningful thought in ten years of being on this forum stay untouched. I've put up 2,000 posts in the politics section and I've never been banned—maybe one or two warnings at most—yet over in the off-topic area, I'm getting flagged constantly.

Because of all this, and because there isn't a single person on this site you can actually exchange ideas with unless it's about the weather or what someone had for lunch, I'm done. You just keep banning the same small group of people whenever a real discussion breaks out. I want out of this bias. I don't want the option to clash with people who are clearly operating far below any standard of basic human decency.

Oh boy, a female forum user is laughing. 🙄 I honestly don't get why that would be grounds for a warning. If people got warned for joking around, there wouldn't be anyone left on the off-topic board.

People get flagged because they break the rules.

That isn't on me. It’s on the Off-Topic crew. If you ask me, a certain part of this group is just plain offensive, which is why we see constant reports from almost the exact same users. It’s not my fault if you guys don't know how to take a joke. You treat every little bit of banter like it's an insult or a provocation.
