I once played at an organized setup out in some woods—we had teams of seven, and our rounds lasted about an hour each. (Honestly, I have no idea how you guys managed to pull off a two-minute round!???)...
And let me tell you, you need serious cardio for this. We were out there playing for four hours straight, and since it’s just constant sprinting, I was basically a statue the next day...
But it’s incredibly addictive, so I am definitely going back!😍
I can't wait! 🎉

I honestly think it would be worth your while to dig through some of the older threads; you’ll find a massive amount of stuff regarding Paintball buried in there somewhere.

@chrissy: A single match at a tournament can be over in two minutes flat. If one squad is just way more skilled than the other, they’ll tear through the flank and everything else before you can even blink.

The thing that really bugs me about these tournaments is the sheer amount of gear you burn through. You end up blowing through maybe 500 paintballs in just one round—which is basically what I usually consider a full day's worth of ammo. When you realize you're playing 5 to 10 matches back-to-back, the math gets pretty ugly. It’s honestly painful to watch how fast it disappears.

P.S. If anyone is looking to get some games in with or against the old pros, hit me up on @ or shoot me a DM. I know from experience how much of a headache it is trying to round up a solid crew of 8+ people every single time.

🙂 🙂

What you saw on TV was basically speedball—and the name pretty much explains itself. It’s played on a small field, so things move fast and rounds are quick. If you’re playing out in the woods, though, those rounds can drag on way longer...
It all depends.
We usually knock out one or two rounds of speedball just to warm up, then head into the brush. To wrap things up, we'll hit speedball again just to burn through the rest of our paintballs. 😁

Anyway, paintball 👍 is great because it’s a full-body workout. If you aren't in shape, you're definitely going to feel some muscle soreness tomorrow. Between the jumping, twisting, crouching, running, and crawling... you're hitting every muscle group. Plus, with the tension and the adrenaline, you don't even realize how hard you're working. It's never boring. 😁

As for the paintballs—it really comes down to your accuracy and your style. Are you just spraying wildly or actually aiming? In a speedball round, I might go through about 50 balls, but there's this one guy who plays with us who can burn through 300 or 400, sometimes even more... And obviously, how many you use depends on your marker. Those rental guns aren't exactly precision instruments...
Ever since I got my new Spyder 😁 marker, I use about half the paint I used to with the rentals—maybe 200 for the day.

Paintball is awesome! :klap:

We just got back from a paintball trip in Santa Barbara—it was a total blast!!

It didn't break the bank either, and we had an absolute riot!

What are you guys paying per round?

So, I’ve got a small crew of friends who are all down for some Paintball, but we hit the same wall every single time: actually getting enough people together to make a game happen. Usually, we can only scrape together maybe 4 or 5 people, which just isn't enough to get anything going.

I was thinking, would a sort of mailing list for anyone interested help shake things up? If you're looking for more action, shoot me an email...

We'll be hitting up different spots and various local fields—just to be clear, I'm not out here recruiting for one specific club or anything. My only goal is to get a solid group together so we can actually play!

It’d be a huge help if you just mentioned which city you’re in. I’m definitely interested—though I’m guessing you’re based in Washington, D.C., which is unfortunately way too far for me.

The issue I run into is that once someone takes a hit too hard, they suddenly lose all interest in ever playing Paintball again 😢. Then you've got the older crowd complaining about the blue bruises left behind by the pellets 😢, and there are people who just aren't willing to deal with even a tiny bit of physical discomfort in exchange for having an absolute blast 🙄. I remember one time I spent a record-breaking three months just trying to round up enough people for a single game of Paintball 🙄

Does anyone happen to know the best way to get to that Paintball club out near Springfield? I think it’s located just past the outskirts of Pittsburgh. Thanks!

Hey, does anyone know if there are any good paintball clubs around? I’d really love to get out there and practice more often, but I have zero people to go with—all my girlfriends are about as fast as snails...

Let me know if you want me to toss you onto my mailing list (only if you're actually feeling it, obviously).

My crew is a bit on the older side, so we mostly stick to casual Paintball 😁

So, what are the actual differences between the different styles of paintball? I went once before and had an absolute blast, so I’d love to get out there more often...
I'm heading out on a longer trip soon, so I'll shoot you a message once I'm back in town.
Thanks for the invite.

It’s a real shame that it’s so pricey and such a hassle to get your hands on. To be honest, I'm based out in Pittsburgh, and there isn't a single club or anything like that around here.

I’m curious if anyone here actually gets out there and plays paintball; I’d love to hear what your experiences have been like, whether you actually enjoy the rush or if it’s just a headache... let’s get into the specifics, shall we?

I play at a semi-pro level. If you want to get serious about the sport, head over to www.painthr.com for more detailed information regarding paintball

I used to be quite involved in the paintball scene myself, back before I transitioned into what I consider the "next level" of the hobby... so, are you actually active in paintball these days?
