The legendary duo is back—following Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are teaming up again for the sci-fi comedy Paul on IMDb, this time set right here in the States.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America's UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes...

it really depends on how you look at it 😁 I mean, finding subtitles for those web CAM versions is always a toss-up.
btw, the movie is called Paul here in the States, but even searching with that didn't turn up any subs; I guess it might just be too early still.

Honestly, I was under the impression we were talking about some kind of giant octopus—you know, one that somehow managed to mimic the results from the last World Cup! 😁

It’s a pretty solid comedy, honestly. There were definitely moments where it dragged a bit and felt kind of slow, so I don't think it totally lived up to everything I was hoping for.

I mean, Paul the Alien is a total blast, but if I'm being real, I expected a little more from him? Like, I feel like his supporting characters could have been fleshed out way better than they actually were. Don't get me wrong, the movie is super fun and I was laughing, but it doesn't quite hit that "all-time classic" status for me.

It’s nowhere near the level of Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, but it does have its moments.

Why even compare it to Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz? That’s kind of an unfair fight... plus, Edgar Wright isn't even behind the camera here.

Regardless, the movie's good. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s got charm and some solid laughs.
That probably all comes down to what you're expecting from it.

Watched it last night. Some people were saying it was a decent comedy, and honestly, they weren't wrong. It’s got its gems and leans hard into parody, but I still found myself 🙄 every time certain things popped up on screen.

A few solid scenes, and plenty of great ones. Fun little movie.👍

I was just sitting there waiting for Paul to finally snap, and then boom: "Get your damn hands off my freaking tool!" 🤣🙏

And you know what’s wild? If you look closely, I think he barely twitched his mouth first, and they just gave each other that look before he finally lost it, hahaha!

It honestly gives off such strong Men in Black vibes, don't you think?

With Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Seth Rogen together, how could anyone expect anything less? You're right about the director being missing, but with this trio, they really should have done better.

It’s far from being a bad film. But when I see Simon Pegg and Nick Frost on screen, my expectations naturally jump.

The best part is definitely when Sigourney Weaver goes, "Get your hands off her, you bitch!" or something like that.

It’s an average flick with plenty of solid scenes—though, if I’m being honest, I think the whole thing could have been executed with a bit more finesse.
That said, don't get me wrong, it isn't a bad movie by any means.
