Hey everyone, what's up

I need some expert advice on PC builds. I'm looking to open a gaming lounge with about 21 stations. The main games will be Dota 2, League of Legends, World of Warcraft, World of Tanks, and Counter-Strike. I’m trying to stick to a budget of $2500 per rig. That price needs to cover the tower, plus a monitor, mouse, and keyboard, obviously.

Which retailer are you actually using? Have you even bothered to ask about bulk discounts yet?

Ugh, are you sure that's actually worth it? You're dropping 150 $0.00 on something that's already dead or dying as we speak.

Look, it’s just an idea right now. I’m basically just sketching everything out on paper to get a ballpark figure of what we're looking at. Haven't even picked a location yet. Right now, I'm just focused on nailing down a solid hardware configuration. As for discounts, obviously, I'll see what I can do there. And honestly? Gaming lounges aren't going anywhere. Games keep getting better, and every decent US city needs a real gaming hub eventually.

Just shoot an email like this to a few retailers (Best Buy, AT&T, Micro Center, Newegg, etc.) and wait for them to put together something similar. See what they can get for the best price and how low they'll go on a pre-built rig including shipping to your place. For Windows, you should go straight through Microsoft Corporation; I'm pretty sure they'll give you the best deal on a volume license...

Total troll. It was the exact same lane!

Who even pours that kind of cash into arcade games nowadays when nobody actually shows up?

And you think people would actually show up to those places? 🤷

Find me one single person who actually does.

Speaking from my perspective here in Cleveland, I’d say all those decent gaming lounges have shut down—you might see someone try to open one here or there, but they usually fold pretty fast.

Give the internet all the credit.

There are still a few left in OS, hanging on by a thread... 🤷 I mean, if someone actually thinks they have the cash and believes it’s worth their while—that’s their business.

I know one spot near the old cathedral, close to Retfala, but even they aren't doing great...

One lower down in Retfala, and I think another one over in a suburban neighborhood...

There are also two spots down south near the train station.
Generally speaking, gaming lounges don't stock such expensive PCs; this one was running something from the GTX series, at least until last year. For the specific games he mentioned, even a Pentium would probably cut it.

This particular place functions as a hybrid—it’s part game shop, part hardware store, part internet cafe, and they even have consoles, Guitar Hero, racing seats, and steering wheels available.

Is there even anyone actually there? 😳

Every time I pass by around rush hour, the place is a ghost town. Just one random guy hanging around inside.

new guy, you from a place like Chicago too? 😳

There’s always going to be a massive influx of kids once school lets out. Back when I was studying at Ohio State, even us "grown-ups" used to drift in whenever we had gaps in our schedules. You can't just spend all day lounging in coffee shops on High Street like some total slacker. 😬

In the early days, we’d have groups of six or seven hanging out on the LAN. As the crowd thinned out, we’d just pile onto the couch to play FIFA on an Xbox 360, sitting about three feet away from an 82cm screen. 😁

Now, you occasionally see people in their 30s roll in, load up their old save files on the Xbox 360, and grab a beer. Honestly, I don't see where the profit is in this, but at the end of the day, it's just budget setups.

I guess component prices aren't dropping fast enough right now that it might actually make more sense to just drop the cash on a high-end build and call it a day for the next three years.

It sounds pretty much like any other game I wouldn't dream of logging into on a public computer. Honestly, you might be better off just buying twenty PlayStations instead.
