So, can someone please break down this ASRock FM2A55M-DSG Socket FM2 situation for me? Like, does this motherboard actually have integrated graphics built-in or am I looking at a black screen? 🙂 Also, I'm torn between the AMD A4 4000BOX x2 3.2ghz FM2 and the AMD Athlon X2 340 x (3,6GHz; dual core; 65W; FM2)... which one is actually better? And would that processor even work with this board in the first place? Thanks!

The motherboard just has video outputs since the graphics are built into the CPU. If the specs say the processor uses an FM2 socket, then it should fit the board.

Are you buying this stuff new? Honestly, the combo of the CPU and motherboard isn't great; you might want to look for a better pairing.

Look, I don't have money to burn. I buy stuff when I actually have the cash, and right now, buying something better just isn't in the cards... so what, does that mean I shouldn't even bother with a CPU or a GPU?

The graphics are built right into the CPU, not the motherboard. I didn't quite catch you there—are you actually pulling the trigger on this purchase now?

Still weighing my options, honestly... looking for a motherboard somewhere in the $300 range, maybe even a bit less $117

If I were you, I’d probably lean toward the Intel side of things:

1 x ASUS H81M-K, 1150, Intel ® H81 express chipset, DDR3
1 x Intel Celeron G1840 (2.80GHz,512KB,2MB,54 W,1150) Box,

$221

The CPU is better, though the graphics are a bit weaker. But honestly, the graphics on that AMD build are pretty pathetic for actual gaming anyway, so it doesn't really matter. Plus, Intel usually gives you more decent upgrade paths down the road.

Honestly, it’d be pretty sweet if I could just snag an APU
—you know, just something decent enough to limp through some lighter games for the time being?

So, what kind of budget are we looking at here?

So, I’m sitting on $350 right now, but what if I wanted to snag some extra cash by the second day?

Larry Ortiz5, nobody’s out here making me offers or anything, I'm just out here trying to pick your brain, you know? Just looking for some solid advice so I can actually get my money's worth and squeeze every last bit of performance out of my budget🙂

Look, man, I’m just saying—it’s always better to have the cash ready before you start making big recommendations. Since you mentioned you’re getting some extra money coming in next week, that’s why I brought it up. It wouldn't make much sense to put a build together right now if you're going to be short on funds by next week, right? Nothing personal at all, just thinking out loud.

ah, okay, I didn't quite catch your drift at first, but honestly? What you're saying actually makes sense 😁, once I get my hands on some cash I'll head over there and maybe someone can help me pull something together with it🙂
