PC upgrade suggestions?

If your power supply is decent—which you should definitely check by popping the side panel and looking for the model name—then all you really need is a new GPU. Your CPU isn't anything special, but it'll get the job done for now.
Grab a graphics card like a GTX 1050 ti or an RX 560; don't go any lower than that.

Yikes... that quality is pretty rough, but since the AMD Athlon and RX 560 don't pull much power, I guess it might work for now.

Your processor should be fast enough to keep up with that GPU, though you're kind of stuck because there aren't any faster CPUs available for that specific socket on your current motherboard. You could try overclocking, but you'd probably need to grab a new cooler and a better power supply to go with it.

Your CPU is actually still solid; it can handle the latest games at high settings and HD resolution... You just have to keep in mind you're stuck on DDR3 RAM, whereas Intel uses much faster, newer DDR4... Like others mentioned above, you could grab a better CPU cooler to try overclocking, but you’ll definitely need a new power supply—maybe even just a basic 400W unit from EVGA or $100

In all seriousness, I should probably just bite the bullet and grab a new PC with DDR4 or DDR5 RAM and a modern GPU

The GPU they’re suggesting is a massive leap over your HD 6670. Just swap in the new card and you'll be set for a year or two...

If you have $1167 extra cash, go for a whole new PC. Honestly though, I wouldn't bother—you'd probably only see a 20fps bump anyway.

Nah, that's still a perfectly solid platform. You're going to see an insane jump in performance just by swapping in a new GPU, even if that power supply is a bit budget—it should hold up, theoretically. That’s why I suggested grabbing a new PSU too, though it isn't strictly mandatory. Still, it's highly recommended. That $300 card is such a steal right now and it'll serve you great.

So, I'm basically looking at grabbing a new power supply and a GPU at the same time 😁.

GTA V (1080p/High) - Athlon x4 950, RX 560 2GB

That combo is actually pretty solid. Even though FM2 is basically a dead-end platform now, that 860K is still a relatively modern quad-core with a high enough base clock to get by. If the motherboard can handle some overclocking, man, that would be sweet... But even as it stands, it’ll definitely get the job done.

One more thing: my power supply is 550W, but what you guys suggested is only 400W. How on earth is that an upgrade? I don't really get how this works, so I'm asking. 😁

The problem is that the MS Pro 550 w ATX P4 only puts out 192W on the 12V rail, whereas a Fortron Hexa 400W Plus actually delivers 384W split across two rails.

Basically, the MS unit is providing way less power where it actually matters on that 12V line.
