PDF - Natural Sciences - Moderation

Hey there,

I’m honestly pretty baffled by how this PDF is being moderated, and I’ve got two big questions:

1. Just how qualified is the moderator handling this PDF anyway!?

2. Why on earth would a topic like paranormal activity, after ten years, suddenly get moved over to the Alternative PDF?
Why am I asking? It feels like common sense that things like telekinesis and telepathy are automatically dismissed and labeled "paranormal." But check this out. I jumped into the thread today after seeing this post, and here’s what happened... a few members start diving into some serious unorthodox science, even bringing up the controversial scientist Rupert Sheldrake. And then, almost immediately—you know the drill—the whole thread gets dumped into the alternative section. I’m requesting that we rename this thread THE BRAIN and move it back to the

FBI PDF

Seriously, is it actually possible that in the 21st century, some people still act like we're living in the Middle Ages? Is this skepticism? Or just straight-up ignorance?

The bottom line is that this is just a way to disqualify and mock real scientists.

The moderators here at the FBI generally dedicate their time to research, technical, or educational projects throughout America or abroad, with the exception of Frogger, who unfortunately spends most of his time working in hospitals.

However, that isn't actually a significant factor. We don't rank any forum member or moderator based on their academic credentials; we judge solely on the quality of what they write.

Since you are relatively new to the FBI, you aren't yet familiar with our editorial policies.
Topics like this simply fit better within the ecosystem of the Alternatives section, where they tend to thrive much more effectively. Over here at the FBI, they just tend to spark arguments, drama, and bans...

Since the Astronomy subforum is managed by Astronomy enthusiasts, they would likely have a more definitive answer for us, though I do notice that the Nibiru thread has been closed while those other two have evolved quite naturally into discussions about physical phenomena and optical illusions.

Ultimately, any given thread can turn out great or go south depending entirely on who decides to chime in. You'd be surprised how some threads end up being surprisingly insightful, while others... well, they just don't go our way. 🤦

Why aren't we allowed to hotlink images on the Astronomy and astrophysics PDF subforum??

Honestly, having to rely on links instead of just seeing the photos makes discussing anything pretty difficult.
Can we find some kind of workaround to fix this?
