Hey there

Is it okay if I start posting on the Rekra forums again after all these years?

I don't mind things being a bit stricter, but since your permanent ban was lifted, I figure you're the expert on how that all works.
I've got no clue why you got hit with a partial and then a perm ban originally—that was ages ago. You've been around plenty since they cleared your record, and honestly, that's enough for me to be down with giving you another shot.

Maybe some other time, but for now, the partial ban stays in place. Honestly, it was earned, and looking at things right now, you just aren't active enough on the forum for me to reconsider or for another moderator to step in and vouch for you.

Hey, I'm totally fine with stricter terms. You can jump straight to banning me if I slip up.

It's been five years.

The rule is that all the mods have to be on board if they're going to let you back in.
I just wanted us both to share our take on things, since we're seeing this differently.

Fair enough.

jadetiger962, look, I don't really post anywhere else besides the Rekra section, so we're basically stuck if you insist on needing approval from every other moderator—especially if you still feel like I need to be punished for years to come, even five years down the road.🙂

ZMM, sorry for crashing this thread, but I’m genuinely confused here.

Jadetiger962, what is actually the absolute worst-case scenario if you decide to remove someone's partial ban after five years (and I mean five whole years 😕)?
That they trigger another partial ban and you suddenly have a permanent excuse to justify any future requests to remove one.
Seriously—after five years (hey, five years!) can't you just give a person a fair shot?
And please, don't hit me with "reasons"—I was there, I read the rules. People change—they grow up, life happens, and people end up thinking and reacting differently than they did five (heyyyyy, five years 🙂 ) ago.

ZMM, sorry again for jumping in, but this isn't the first time I've seen people holding onto partial bans longer than most murderers spend behind bars. 😉

I don't really know what to make of this... I guess maybe there's something there? It's hard to say for sure! kaže:
I don't really have a problem with things being a bit more strict, you know? But since they finally lifted your permanent ban, I'm assuming you're pretty much an expert on how all that works!
I honestly have no clue why you ended up getting those partials and the permanent ban... maybe I'm just missing something? I guess it all seems a bit sudden to me!

?
I mean, wouldn't it be a good idea to maybe look into it first, you know? Like, she should probably do some digging and get the facts straight before jumping in, right? I guess it just makes sense!
I mean, I guess that would be like... a decent starting point, right? Just a baseline to get things moving. Maybe! 😁

Alright, I'll lay everything out for you in the next reply!

It’s not even really about one single thing happening, you know? I mean, it's more complicated than that, I guess. It isn't just some isolated event... it's more like everything coming together at once!

The PDF is working like a charm now that those partial updates have finally kicked in! I guess everything just needed that extra nudge to get running smoothly, but man, it feels great to see it actually functioning properly now.
Honestly, the whole vibe here just feels so much better now. It’s way more chill, constructive, and actually helpful for everyone—whether you've been around forever or you're just joining us today. It's pretty simple, really!

Man, what we were dealing with before was just... honestly, it was pretty bad. Like, really bad. It felt like this constant, non-stop stream of pure malice and negativity aimed at everyone else here. Just total intolerance toward the rest of the community, one way or another, without any actual reason behind it. I guess it really just became a question of how much longer someone could actually get away with it under the forum rules, and how everyone else was expected to just deal with it.
Some people handled it way better than others, I guess. You had some folks totally losing their cool, while others just stayed calm through it all. It was such a long, drawn-out process, too... honestly, everything just kind of finally settled down once the partial results came in!

I honestly can't believe anyone actually thinks this has fundamentally changed, you know? Like, from the very top all the way down to the bottom... I just don't see it. It feels like nothing has really shifted at its core, despite what people might want to believe. Maybe I'm being too cynical, but I guess it just seems that way to me!
Maybe so, but honestly? That’s probably not the option I'd be putting my money on.

If you just go ahead and trigger that partial again, you'll basically have a permanent excuse to demand they remove the partial whenever you feel like it. I mean, maybe it’s a bit of a loophole, but hey, it works!

It feels like we’re actually heading back to square one here. I guess things are just moving in reverse now.
I mean, honestly? They shouldn't be the ones out there constantly hunting for some kind of "permanent justification" for everything they do. Not right now, and not ever, really. I guess... if you ask me, the partial solution is actually the permanent one.
I mean, I guess whoever is actually in charge should be the one to come up with some seriously solid reasons and a real explanation for why they’d even consider trying to remove bear in the first place!

Just because a lot of time has passed doesn't really mean anything on its own, I guess.
"I've been fully aware of what happened, and honestly, I've been working my tail off to make things right with everyone involved," he would have said right there. Because, I mean, that was really the heart of the whole mess, wasn't it?
Nah, I don't think that's even remotely possible, and honestly, I don't believe anything like that ever actually happened.

Look, don't even start with me about all the reasons and excuses. I was actually there myself, and I read everything firsthand!

"Don't give me excuses" is such a weird way to handle an argument, isn't it? It feels like someone just shutting down instead of actually looking at the facts of the situation. I guess it doesn't really leave any room for a fair or objective discussion, you know?

Look, just so we're on the same page, back then I was really trying to keep everything condensed into just a few posts on this Comb thread—you know, less is more, right? And honestly, I don't really plan on writing a ton here either now.

I might be stepping out of line here, but I simply can't stay silent on this matter. I find the comments made by our fellow forum member briskjackal5 to be incredibly malicious. It feels on par with those who would defend letting undocumented immigrants cross into America even if they posed a potential terrorist threat. Honestly, I’d go so far as to say this is bordering on hate speech. It seems quite possible that this stems from a sense of personal animosity. As the saying goes, a barking dog doesn't hurt the village.

Regarding his specific phrasing: "To ide obratno.
They shouldn't be the ones searching for a 'permanent justification' for anything. Not now, and not ever. A parole hearing is a permanent solution." I think we can apply the following analogy to his logic --> "That works both ways. Judges shouldn't be required to hunt for reasons to grant someone parole. Not now, and not ever. Prison is a permanent solution."

To put it more broadly, you could draw similar parallels with mental health facilities, juvenile detention centers, or other rehabilitation institutions. I am intentionally choosing examples involving individuals considered "worse" than ZMM. I have to say, I am genuinely shocked that after five years, someone hasn't earned a second chance. I could understand if he had already squandered such an opportunity, but from what I gather, he hasn't. Look, it's not like he murdered someone or robbed a bank; he was simply socially maladapted when interacting with others. Does a mistake like that really warrant being cast out from society for more than five years? I am appealing to everyone's sense of reason.

Pardon the intrusion, and best regards to all.

😬 That’s not really it. If that were the case, I would have been banned from the entire forum. The reality is there were different cliques, a lot of personal drama, individual grudges, and plenty of provocations. Sure, I've insulted a few people—I don't pretend to be some saintly forum user—but that's all behind me now, just like those users are.

But thanks, you read the situation perfectly. 🙂

Do you honestly believe that I, or any other user, needs to maintain an idyllic relationship with every single person on this forum?
The core issue was communication (among other things)—something I’m operating under the assumption has improved. I know mine has over the last five years, and I’m certain yours has too. To be blunt, I’m sure a huge number of users have evolved how they communicate compared to how they did five years ago.

"Don't give me excuses" is exactly the kind of phrase used to cut short the explanation of why certain partial bans or permanent bans happen—mostly because I was there, reading.
There’s really no need to dwell on it, especially since my question isn't just about this one instance, but about various bans that have dragged on for years.

Sure, I agree there are "irreparable" cases (which I assume are the minority), but I don't think ZMM falls into that category. Personally, I feel that after five years, a person should be given a chance to see where things go. Especially since the "mistake" of a partial ban can be fixed with a single mouse click.
I say this having known firsthand those labeled as "forum wreckers," "PDF life-dwellers," "lifeless drama queens," and "toxic personalities"—people who had their permanent bans lifted, even though they hadn't even been issued a warning card, let alone a ban (shoutout to my buddy ziDić 🙂).

So, now you're accusing me of being subjective (even though I wasn't involved in the story at all, aside from reading it). Are you being objective here?

🤣🤣

But seriously, five years of partial bans and you guys still won't just remove bear because, what, he might do it again? Jesus, we aren't talking about some terrorist plot here. We're talking about a forum. A f o r u m. Just remove bear.
It's much easier to just let him back in.

Wait, is ZMM that guy who used to post pictures of anorexics and claim they were the definition of beauty? 🤔

You’ll never be anything more than a lifeless drone🙂
That’s just Zlatko—(yeah, yeah, I know, I spend way too much time on these forums and remember every tiny detail)

edit: now get out of here before we accidentally start a whole new thread for ZMM

If it means anything, bear posted on our local community board recently regarding fitness and recreation, and he was actually incredibly kind, polite, and easy to talk to.
I don't know much about all this drama you guys have going on; I'm just stepping in like some annoying bystander. 🕺
But five years... good grief, that's a long time. That's a lifetime for someone out in the real world, let alone for a forum.

Hey bear 👋

To put it more broadly, you could draw similar parallels with mental health facilities, juvenile detention centers, or other rehabilitation institutions. There’s a logical flaw in your comparison. For the sake of argument, let’s assume partial bans are justified. If they are, there’s a reason—namely, someone caused trouble on the PDF. The mods have a responsibility to review whether a ban should be lifted, but they aren't obligated to just wipe the slate clean.

A real comparison would be someone who actually committed acts of terrorism claiming they’ve repented just so they could be allowed back into America. In this case, we aren't guessing whether someone caused issues on the PDF—we already know they did.
