Hey, I’m looking to set aside some cash specifically for $333 peripherals: a decent headset (gamer style with a mic), a gaming mouse and keyboard combo (I want something legit, not those cheap office knockoffs), maybe some speakers (not a huge priority if it blows my budget since I'll mostly be on the headset), and an ergonomic mouse pad with that wrist rest. Don't worry about the monitor.

Have you actually used a mouse pad with a built-in palm rest before, or is there some specific reason you're hunting one down? Those things are pretty hard to come by—and honestly, they usually just drive up the price of the whole setup for no real reason (take the Razer Vespula, for example).

Oof. Isn't that mouse a bit pricey? My math was looking more like this: $200 for the mouse, maybe $200 for the keyboard, $300 for speakers, $300 for headphones, and then $100 for the pad. Though, I might skip the speakers altogether if I just stick to the headset.

If you think that’s too pricey for a gaming mouse, just grab the FireGlider—it's basically the budget king at this point:

And honestly, just hold off on the speakers until you actually need them.

Yeah, looks like I’m gonna have to back off the big budget idea. So, let me ask one more time—if I’ve got $200 total, can I get a mouse that actually feels like a gaming mouse plus a keyboard for another $200? Or maybe less? Honestly, I've seen cheaper stuff, but who knows if it's actually any good:

Keyboard:

Mouse:

I see you guys recommending Portio for peripherals. Do they do free shipping there? And how long does delivery usually take? Also, is it better to just grab everything from one shop, or is it fine to split it up between a few different places? 🤷 I really dig this specific look for the keyboard and mouse combo, so that's what I'm leaning towards.

Look, aesthetics aren't really the point here—it's not about whether you think it looks cool, but how it actually feels in your hand. You should probably give that some serious thought—ideally by heading down to a Best Buy or something to actually get a feel for the mouse before buying...

Look, you could always just hit up Walmart if you want, it doesn't really matter. There are some user reviews for that keyboard over here:

Never heard of that mouse.

The link's broken, man. And how am I supposed to tell if a mouse is actually good? I can't just walk into a store right now because I'd have to drive all the way from San Diego to LA just to check it out.😢

You can find it at Links, and if I’m not mistaken, they have a location in Seattle too. You could always just order from a cheaper retailer online...

The logic here is flawed—firstly... there's no way a price of $27 guarantees anything decent, let alone high quality or precision.

If you just pick one of those two options we suggested, you won't regret it—they'll probably serve you well for years...

Robert Johnson8 said:Your link is broken, by the way—doesn't work at all. And honestly, how are you even supposed to tell if a mouse is actually high-quality just by looking at it online? It’s not like you can feel the build or test the sensor through a screen. I can't exactly head down to the local Best Buy to test them out either, since that would mean driving all the way from San Diego to Los Angeles just to pick up some gear. 😢

I can't even begin to wrap my head around this—honestly, just total nonsense. It’s like someone took a handful of random thoughts, threw them into a blender, and hit "pulse" without actually checking if there was anything in there to blend. Just complete and utter chaos. Honestly, why do we even bother? I can't really make sense of that—it looks like you might have just hit send too early or maybe there was a glitch in the system? If you were trying to get me to rewrite something, go ahead and drop the text. I'm ready when you are. So, if you head over to the other link—honestly, that trashy forum is running some weird script that just swaps out the links automatically. Typical. 😠

Man, this guy over at ADM just dropped this monitor in front of me what's the verdict? Msm, I basically ask him for a recommendation and he just shoves this specific one in my face lol

Regarding that keyboard... look, if you've got the patience for it, maybe try checking some other local retailers near you to see if they can track it down. It seems like it's pretty much out of stock everywhere right now, which is just typical, isn't it?
Anyway, it's a seriously high-quality mechanical board. I’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews about it. Even though I haven't personally made the jump myself—I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes—everyone else seems to swear by it. Moving from a standard membrane setup to something mechanical? You'll feel the difference immediately. It's night and day. 😉

It's going to push your budget up by maybe another 100-$50, but honestly, I think it's worth every penny. But hey, it's your money. Your call.

P.S. Those prices are from Links, so expect things to be a little pricier there...

Robert Johnson8 said:So, this guy over at ADM tries to sell me this monitor —like, seriously? I ask him for a solid recommendation and he just drops this in my lap. Hilarious.

Go with the TS model instead of the HS. Or maybe grab a 22" like this:

The monitor's gotta be from AMD, and I’m honestly not sure if what these guys picked out for me actually hits the mark. All I really wanted was an Apple 23'' with an IPS panel—I can't even remember the specific tech name they use on Apple monitors 🤷

EDIT: Look, keeping it simple. I just want an Apple 23'' IPS monitor bought from AMD. Nothing else matters.

EDIT 2: Fine, I think I'll just go with this one
