Thanks.

You're really leaving? It was fun hanging out with you. Good luck! 👋

I appreciate the sentiment, though cutting ties feels a bit like severing an umbilical cord. That said, I don’t quite feel equipped to handle the social demands of this forum anymore, so it’s probably for the best if I step away like this.
It truly was a pleasure connecting and chatting with you all, and I want to thank everyone who made my time here so memorable.🙂

It was great hanging out and catching up with everyone. Big thanks to all of you for making this trip so special.🙂

Good luck. This forum is a weird place. People tend to take things way too seriously here. If this stuff is actually messing with your real life, then honestly, just walk away. But if it’s just one of those existential forum crises, we'll be back at it once it blows over.🙂

That’s a shame. I’m actually going to miss you... 😢
But hey, if your mind is made up, good luck to you. The door is always open if you change your mind...
I’ve got just as many posts as coastalwalker9—I guess some things are just meant to be. 😁

Maybe just give it another week or two to breathe and really sit with it, you know? We’re still kind of riding that post-holiday wave where everyone’s head is a little fuzzy and decisions aren't always as logical as they should be.

If you end up sticking with your current take, just hit me up in about a week with your final word on it. 👍

I appreciate you being so understanding and for all the support.
You make a fair point; perhaps once I finally manage to take a day off and give my brain a much-needed break, I’ll start seeing things from a different perspective.
Let's just get through this current madness first, and then we'll talk.👍

...

There’s a profound irony in what you’re saying, because when I look at the sheer effort required to view any situation through a lens of broad perspective, genuine constructiveness, and actual good faith, I find that most commenters here aren't even remotely on your level. What I pointed out is a rare occurrence on this platform, frankly. It would be a genuine loss if you stopped posting, as your specific way of communicating provides a much-needed breath of fresh air in this digital wasteland.

The internet will always be crawling with vitriol and pure malice, populated by people who are practically salivating at the chance to latch onto someone else's words and poison the well. My advice is to simply stop giving them any oxygen at all. Read what interests you, write what you want, and refuse to grant even a second of your attention to the nonsense that doesn't serve you.

As for the constant, biting sarcasm and the endless petty sniping that defines these comment sections, try looking at it from a different angle—sometimes, there is a certain dark amusement to be found in the chaos. 😁

What I’ve pointed out is a rarity on this board. It would be a shame if you stopped posting; your particular style of communication is actually quite refreshing around here.

The internet will always be full of toxicity and bad faith—people just waiting for an opening to jump in and poison the well. Try to ignore it as much as possible. Read what you want, write what you want. You don't owe your attention to anything that doesn't sit right with you.

As for the constant snark and biting sarcasm typical of these forums—look at it from another angle. Sometimes, it can actually be pretty entertaining. 😁

She truly is a kind, warm soul.

You’re right—maybe once I finally grab a day off and let my brain chill for a second, I’ll start seeing things differently.

I caught a few of your posts over in the Spirituality and Religion section... please, don't bail on this forum... casualcanyon3 and Anthony Nguyen81 already said it all.

I’ve told a bunch of other users that I’m bummed they left, but for you? I’m gonna be straight up right now... honestly.

Be selective about which users you engage with and which threads you choose to join. It takes a bit of time and experience to figure out who is worth talking to, what topics are worth your breath, and whether the vibe of a specific sub-forum actually suits you.

There are pleasant members here whom you can always have a great conversation with, others you can talk to occasionally depending on the topic, and then there are those you should simply avoid entirely—or better yet, just add to your Ignore list and move on.

Not everyone on this site has good intentions or even an interest in the subject matter; some people are just trolls, attention seekers, or even show up intoxicated and can't remember their own posts the next morning 😁 and so on.

If you approach everyone with endless empathy and tolerance, the "energy vampires" of the internet will drain you dry in no time. Save your energy and compassion for the people in your real life who truly matter. On a forum like this, it is wiser to remain somewhat reserved and maintain a healthy distance. You don't need to be rude, but you shouldn't overinvest either. At the end of the day, this is all just casual entertainment. 🙂

Well, thank you all. You’re right—I suppose I may have let my emotions get the better of me a bit too much. Honestly, I’m not quite ready to walk away myself. There is truly a wealth of intelligent people and engaging discussions here, and I genuinely enjoy my time on this forum.
I am dropping the plan and will endeavor to be a bit more prudent moving forward.
You have reminded me just how much I would miss this place if I actually left.👍🙂🙂
