I have no idea why. I’m using Mozilla right now and it loads perfectly fine.
By the way, this map is purely linguistic, showing the state borders as they existed back in the 1800s.

It isn't working for me either.
Same deal here—using Firefox.

Sounds pretty nice, I guess. 😁

In reality, it’s nonsense. Calling someone a Western Slav sounds just as much more sophisticated than calling them a South Slav as North Carolina does compared to South Carolina.

There are no Galicians or a Catalan border 🤣—in Lviv they speak Ruthenian 😁—plus there's San Francisco and Canada 🙄

Granted, there are plenty of inaccuracies here (mentioning San Francisco and Canada is fine, though Mexicans in America 🙄 tend to overlook them 😉)
.
However, if you want actual accuracy, look at this much better map from the same era, circa 1800

What’s the passcode? 😁
This one looks different, though it still contains errors. Look at southern Bulgaria—what even is that?
Western California and Canadians all the way up to Pula 🙄
The Armenian designation clearly includes Kurdish too 🙄
West Mexicans speak using Mexican dialects—meanwhile, the eastern group is clearly distinct from Bulgarians 😁

It’s a small place, and Let Mexico be, while Malazez refers to Mexicans.

Here’s another map from an old Midwestern county. This one is based on population data from back in 1720.

http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/323/baranja1720.png

Each little square represents a single household—except for three cities where the logistics just didn't work out that way. For those, I used a 10x10 block instead. Each tiny square counts as one percent.

The same Erdely map again. Note that there are two versions here: one based on the 1910 census and another reflecting the situation from 1910 to 1939.
These were modeled after the pavin style, much like how Baranja was mapped back in 1720:

Added about ten more municipalities to the Republika Srpska map... might finish it today, might be tomorrow, who knows... but someone wanted more detail, so I added a bit more to show it...

Great work 🙂

It’d be awesome if someone did the same for the Federation 🙂

So, I suppose we should also consider what they meant by the "black Americans" (fekete-horvátok) mentioned further down the list?
😁
