I'm asking for some help here—does anyone actually know what they're doing?

So, I finally went out and pulled the trigger on a new HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4645—it’s a full-on printer, scanner, fax, and copier combo.

I downloaded the drivers straight from the CD, but this printer is being incredibly sluggish—it's like it's thinking about every single move I make! To make matters worse, whenever I try to print a few copies of a Word or Excel doc, the damn thing only spits out one single page and then just stops. What gives?
It’s the exact same headache with my QuickBooks software. They actually had the nerve to tell me that maybe the drivers on this CD are just outdated—so, you know, their brilliant suggestion was for me to head over to the HP website, hunt down the latest versions, and manually update all the software myself. Unbelievable.

She did everything she was supposed to—even went through the whole ritual of downloading that HP print and scan doctor thing—and now it’s just sitting there telling her everything is "fine." Great! Absolutely fantastic! Except, of course, nothing actually worked. Not a single bit.

Does anyone actually have an idea of what else I should try? Seriously.

Just so we're all on the same page here—and yeah, I know this matters—I'm running Windows XP.

Hey there! Looking for some honest reviews on budget color laser printers.

Right now, I’m stuck using this old HP Deskjet 4450 with those annoying refillable cartridges, but honestly, dropping $750$267 on a solid color laser doesn't seem like such a massive hit if you look at the long game—assuming manufacturers finally stopped playing dirty with fake toner levels and software that acts like a straight-up virus.

What’s the real-world experience been like?

How much are we talking for the replacement cartridges?

How long do they actually last? What's the page yield looking like?

Are there any major headaches or hidden catches... what kind of nonsense have they cooked up this time?

http://www.amazon.com/printers_color_laser/hp...or-a4__5421191

I’m thinking strictly home user stuff, maybe for kids doing schoolwork... just light printing, like 2 or 3 pages here and there on average.

Cheers!

Hey everyone,
I could really use some help here. I’ve got this new Canon Pixma MX535 MFP, and honestly, it works just fine when I have it plugged in via USB. But trying to get it to connect to my Wi-Fi automatically? Forget about it. It’s impossible. I managed to force a manual connection somehow—it keeps telling me "setup completed and OK"—but there's a catch. Even though I went ahead and installed all the drivers on my PC, my computer just refuses to see the printer on the network. It's like they aren't even in the same room. Troubleshooting is giving me a mountain of different options to try and bridge the gap between the PC and the printer wirelessly, but nothing actually works. I even thought maybe I could just register for the Cloud to bypass the whole wireless printing headache, but I can't even create an account because it keeps insisting the printer isn't on the network. And yet, the Wi-Fi light is on, and the manual connection was supposedly successful. Makes sense, right? Not really.
Has anyone else dealt with this nonsense with this model or something similar? How did you finally get it to behave?
Thanks in advance

What exactly do you mean by "manual connection"? Have you actually tried messing with the wireless settings like this before?: http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consu.../#tab-content2

Benjamin King2 said:What exactly do you mean by "manual connection"? Were you actually trying to mess around with the wireless settings yourself? I can't believe I'm even looking at this support page again. Honestly, why do we bother? You click through a dozen broken links, hunt for a driver that feels like it was written in the nineties, and for what? To get an error message that tells you absolutely nothing? It’s the same loop every single time. Does anyone actually find these troubleshooting guides helpful, or are we all just collectively pretending they work? Because from where I'm sitting, it feels like a massive waste of time. You follow step one, step two, step three... and suddenly you're staring at a blinking light on a printer that clearly has more attitude than sense. Is there even a point? Just another day in the life of fighting with technology that was obsolete before it even left the factory. Just my luck, I guess.

The whole WPS thing was a total bust, just wouldn't work. But, I finally managed to find the network and get everything linked up using the Standard Connection Method. It says "Setup complete" now, and that annoying WiFi light on the printer stopped blinking. Finally.
That’s really it. That’s everything I’ve tried. Neither my laptop—running Windows 7 32-bit—nor my phone on Android can even see the printer on the network. It's just sitting there, invisible. Why does this always happen?
I tried getting it registered on the Cloud, but now the printer's just throwing an error at me during the service login... "Can't detect network." Seriously? What am I even supposed to do with that?
I’m honestly at my wit's end here. I don't even know what else to try. The router seems to be doing its job just fine, and I've already gone ahead and disabled the firewall... still nothing. What am I supposed to do now?

What kind of printer should I grab for around $133—needs to be a scanner/printer combo.
I’m only talking like 10 pages a month... just don't want to get killed on the price of color ink.

I’m also on the lookout for a budget-friendly printer, maybe something in the $90 range. I wouldn't mind a monochrome model, though I think having wireless capabilities would be a huge plus. I'd probably be printing around 100 pages a month or so.

Any suggestions you guys have would be really appreciated. 🙂

HP LaserJet 1102w - $33 works fine, but honestly, is it worth spending a bit extra for a laser printer? A toner cartridge (CE285A) with a 1600-page yield is actually under $33, and let's be real: you'll deal with way fewer headaches with a laser than you ever would with a cheap Inkjet.

I've been using an HP DeskJet. I haven't touched the USB connection since day one, and everything was fine. But now, the Wi-Fi button is basically useless. Every time I power the printer on, a red light flashes briefly and then... nothing. Just dead silence.
I have a feeling the issue stems from switching internet providers recently. Apparently, there's some setup required so my computer can actually recognize it again, but I'm completely lost on how to handle that.
My first instinct was to just pop in the installation CD and run through the setup again via a wired connection, but I honestly have no idea where I put the cable... 😵
If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it. I'm officially at my wit's end here.

Thanks a lot!

Hey there,

So, I've got this HP Deskjet 1000 J110 series sitting on my desk. It worked perfectly fine before I let it sit idle for about a year and a half, but now we have a problem. I turn it on, it seems ready to go, but it just spits out completely blank pages. The ink levels look okay to me, so I'm scratching my head here. Is this a case of the printhead being totally clogged, or am I actually running low on ink despite what it says?

Has anyone else dealt with something like this?

Does anyone have any firsthand intel on these new printers?

It looks like they're super cost-effective for printing, so I'm thinking about grabbing one for the office to handle our CAD drafts. The price points are sitting at $1167 and $1600.
How's the actual print quality looking, and is the ink refilling process a total headache?
Or, if you guys have a better suggestion for color A3 printing, I'm all ears.
Thanks!

Looks like they’re super cheap to run, might grab one for the office just to print out CAD drafts... Price points are around $1167 and $1600.
What's the print quality actually like? And is refilling the ink a total nightmare?
Or maybe someone has a better suggestion for color A3 printing...
Thanks.

Hey there! We've been in the printer repair and ink/toner refill business for a long time now. From what we've seen on the job, these specific printers can be a real headache to maintain because you're constantly fighting ink supply issues and random electronic glitches... Plus, compared to other A3 models, the print quality just isn't quite there.
Our top pick would be the Canon IP 6750, which goes for about $667. That model uses 5 separate ink tanks. It's way more cost-effective—for example, you can find ink locally starting from $30 up to $17 depending on how high-end the quality needs to be.

Hey there! Quick question about my printer. I’m currently using an EPSON xp-215, though honestly—I’m not even sure if the specific model matters all that much in this situation... does anyone know roughly how many pages I can still squeeze out once that "low ink" warning pops up? Just trying to get a heads-up before I'm totally stuck mid-print. Thanks!

Once you see that warning, you can usually squeeze out maybe 20 or so basic pages—just plain text, nothing fancy. But honestly, I wouldn't recommend pushing it... if you run too low, you risk totally frying the print head, which is a nightmare. Better to just grab some spare cartridges and swap them out before things go south... they aren't even that pricey for this specific model! 👍

Hi there.
I'm looking to pick up a printer. My budget is capped at $133. It'll mostly be used for printing presentations, study guides, and similar documents.
What’s the best value option within that price range? I also need something where finding third-party ink or toner isn't a headache.
And just for clarity, what is the actual difference between an inkjet and a laser printer?

Also, how can I be sure which specific replacement toner or ink cartridge matches my printer model?

Grab a black-and-white laser printer—specifically this Xerox 3010. You can pick up a compatible toner cartridge that yields about 2,200 pages for around $15.

What’s the real difference here? Inkjet printers run on ink cartridges, while lasers use powder toner. Looking strictly at this budget range... an inkjet's capacity is usually stuck at 100–200 pages, and even if you find cheap replacements, the cost per page adds up fast. Plus, they're finicky; they often refuse to work unless every single color tank is full, they hate third-party inks, and if you leave them sitting for too long, the print head clogs and you might as well toss the whole machine. They just aren't built to last. The only real perk? You get color. On the flip side, a monochrome laser printer uses toner with way higher capacity (like the 2,200 pages on that Xerox), and since a replacement is only about $15, your cost per page drops significantly. Best of all, third-party toners actually work fine—they don't lock you out or wreck the hardware. The downside? In this price bracket, you're pretty much limited to black and white. Honestly, that Xerox is likely the only laser option at this price point.
Bottom line: always check the price and availability of ink or toner before you buy, otherwise you'll be complaining when you suddenly need a refill. And figuring out which toner fits which printer is easy. Every toner has its own specific model number; just look up which one matches your machine and search for that.

I’m looking to pick up a printer for my Acer laptop, but I’m honestly stuck. I have no clue which one would be the best bang for my buck! Mostly, I just need to print out recipes, random little things, and maybe a color photo here and there. I really need some solid advice on what to get—something useful, but without breaking the bank, you know? Thanks!

The real question here is: how much are you actually willing to shell out? Look, if you go for one of those dirt-cheap inkjet printers, you’re going to regret it no matter which brand you pick. A full set of original ink cartridges usually costs more than the damn printer itself, and finding decent third-party replacements is a total crapshoot. This Epson has some cheap replacement ink options available, though who knows what the print quality will actually look like. Generally speaking, budget inkjets just aren't reliable machines.
I’d honestly suggest picking up a color laser printer (like that Xerox mentioned above). The cost per page is way lower and the hardware is much more dependable. Trust me, you'll survive without color printing.

That Epson isn't even in production anymore.

And this Xerox? It's an investment that lasts maybe 18 months.

How so?

Because does anyone actually remember a Xerox lasting longer than 24 months?

WHAT?

Nobody remembers.
The Xerox 3116 was definitely 100% more rugged than this latest model.
