Printer port issues

Hey, I’m having some trouble setting up a USB port for my printer since it won't print at all. It used to work via a local port, but now everything has stalled out. Any advice? 🤷

What’s the situation looking like in Device Manager? Any yellow exclamation points or error icons popping up on your end? 🙂

I don't see any exclamation points or question marks popping up in my Device Manager, aside from the fact that it's showing a virtual connection via an LPT1: printer port; everything seems fine with the hardware itself, but the moment I plug it into my computer, the system just acts like nothing is there...😢

Are the printer drivers actually installed yet?

So, from what I gather, you're trying to hook this thing up to your computer via a USB cable. If that’s the case, you'll definitely need to get the right drivers installed first. To figure out which ones you actually need, I'm going to need a bit more info—specifically, what kind of printer we're dealing with (manufacturer and model) and which OS you're running. 🙂

And why on earth would you install it on an IBM if it’s connecting via USB anyway? Just curious—seems like a lot of extra steps for no reason.

It somehow managed to install itself directly onto my IBM instead of running through a USB drive...
