Has anyone here actually gone through the motions with the Proactiv ® Solution and, more importantly, what was the actual payoff?
I’ve been hearing all this chatter about how it’s some kind of miracle worker for stubborn skin issues and breakouts.
But let’s be real—it’s pretty pricey, and I hate feeling like I'm throwing money down the drain on hype. So, I’m wondering if it's worth the investment or if the results truly live up to the fanfare.
If you’ve personally used it, please, do me a favor and let me know if it actually delivers on its promises like everyone claims.

  1. http://www.proactiv.com/ You thinking along these lines?

My brother used Proactiv and it actually worked; his acne cleared up completely.

Then you have my cousin, who uses Proactiv too, and it does absolutely nothing for him.

You could always just try ordering it yourself.

Yeah, thanks, I saw that you could actually order it, so I was just curious about what kind of deal it was since the price tag is sitting right around $167.
So, did your brother ever deal with major skin issues back in the day?
Thanks

My brother had much worse problems, both with his face and his back.
The Proactiv ® Solution worked for him; the acne cleared up, but he had to order it multiple times and stay consistent with it.
He doesn't have acne anymore.

Personally, I think it's overpriced $167. Why not try herbal remedies instead, like teas specifically for breakouts? At least tea can help without doing any harm.

You could always try both.

Are you saying the real issue lies with hormones rather than just the skin itself?

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT HERBAL STUFF...
TRUST ME, I TOTALLY TRASHED MY SKIN TRYING THAT...
Don't fall for that "natural remedy" hype they sell you.

I don't even have breakouts anymore, but I fixed everything with heavy-duty meds.
Only time will tell if it stays that way!

What were you actually using—a cream or some kind of pills? You should have been more specific; it might have actually helped someone.
Proactiv isn't bad either. If you can afford Proactiv, it works wonders. It worked for my brother, his acne cleared up, and his skin looks great now.

P.S. Thomas Campbell10 and Brandon Murphy7, let me know if you started using Proactiv and if it’s actually doing anything for you.

It honestly didn't do anything for me... if anything, it actually made my skin worse than when I started, so now I'm heading to see a dermatologist instead...
it was a complete bust in my case...
the real issue is that the whole thing relies on this exfoliant that just totally strips your face bare, plus the scent of the product is honestly pretty unpleasant...
you could certainly give it a shot, though... maybe you'll have better luck with it than I did

I don't know, maybe you gave up too soon? You need to stick with it for at least three months to see the acne clear up. If your skin starts peeling while you're applying it, that actually means it's working—you just have to keep going and the breakouts will subside.

I mentioned before how a relative of mine wasn't seeing results with Proactiv either, but he stayed disciplined and applied it multiple times every single day. Now his skin is starting to peel slightly, the scars are fading, and the acne is clearing out. When I saw him the other day, the transformation was massive. He’s basically living in the bathroom constantly washing or applying the product; he’s just incredibly persistent. He keeps telling me, "Look, my acne is finally going away," and I just tell him, "Yeah, just keep applying it and it'll pass."😘

I personally used it for more than three months...
You have to realize that everyone's skin reacts differently, I guess.
Generally speaking, if you have problematic skin, you should only use an exfoliant once or maybe twice a week at most, but I didn't really know that back then.
It's also a different story when it comes to men; it worked for my brother in the exact same way...
Treatments tend to act quite differently on men versus women when you're dealing with acne issues.

I suppose Douglas Ramos2 makes a pretty solid point here too..
For women, I guess the hormonal imbalance really is the root cause, and while it might seem like you should treat it from the outside, maybe using random products isn't the answer. It feels more important to look inward to find the actual source of the trouble and then start a whole process there—like focusing on purifying the blood first and foremost...

Fine then. Go get a blood test. It’s simple enough. If there’s an issue, the lab results will show it. From there, you can work on cleansing your system with supplements. If your bloodwork comes back clean, only then should you worry about treating your face or back with topical creams.

I've been dealing with breakouts constantly and have cycled through everything from Clean & Clear to Eucerin—I even splurged on Dr. Murad products—but nothing has made a dent... I keep hearing people rave about Proactiv, so I figured I'd ask: does anyone else here have a success story with it?🙂
