Protest against thread relocation

I’m lodging a formal protest regarding the decision to move the thread about Ronald Reagan out of the Political Landscape subforum and over into US Domestic Politics. My guess? It was moved because a few pages drifted into some nonsense discussion about the intersection of sports and politics—specifically, some chatter about changing the name of a local pro football team here in Chicago. In my opinion, a moderator's actual job is to clean up the fluff and keep the topic where it belongs, rather than relocating an entire thread just because a few irrelevant posts hijacked the conversation.

I honestly think you’re getting a bit mixed up here, both in terms of how you’re protesting and the assumptions you're making. It’s a stretch to assume that the way things are moderated within the political landscape in US domestic politics applies to everything else, and frankly, I don't see how this protest is going to get you anywhere.

edit: I only posted the question here because I was genuinely looking for a logical explanation as to why the thread was moved in the first place. Maybe someone can actually give me a straight answer.

I'm gonna show up to the protest. I mean, the whole point is his spot on the political stage, since he still manages to pull the strings from behind the scenes.
