Has anyone seen this movie yet? I am dying to watch it, but the screenshots I found online are making me a little nervous 😬 .
If you have seen it, please let me know if it is actually creepy (in which case I will watch it during the day 😬) or just another end of spoiler Teen horror flick.

I recently sat down with the Japanese original ("Cairo"), which stands out as one of the finest Asian horror films I've ever experienced. It’s a slow burn—no cheap jump scares to be found—just a deeply unsettling atmosphere and a truly fantastic ending.

The remake supposedly retains several key scenes from the original, but they’ve cluttered it with those typical Hollywood jump scares. On top of that, there's a moment where a character basically stops the plot to explain everything to the protagonists, as if understanding 🙄 was somehow too much to ask. While the reviews have been pretty scathing, the "unrated" DVD version apparently earned some minor praise. Out of pure curiosity, I think I might give it a watch anyway.

Grace Fisher31, if you find yourself with nothing else on your watchlist, go ahead and check it out—though, honestly, you'd be much better off hunting down the original film.

...for me, the absolute king of horror—the one that kept giving me literal electric shocks—was "Shutter"... but you really have to watch that one at night with headphones on. Good grief, I have zero intention of ever revisiting that one.

I watched the American version, and honestly, 🙄 the only redeeming quality of this movie is the fast-forward button. 😬 If anyone fell asleep halfway through Descent, they’ll likely suffer the same fate here. SPOILER The ghosts in this flick look almost identical to those underground creatures from Descent. Right from the start, you know the lead actor isn't going to die just because he's good-looking 😬. Plus, every single character spends five minutes staring at a monitor asking, "Do you want to see a ghost?" It might be creepy the first couple of times, but after ninety minutes, it just gets old. end of spoiler Teen

Japanese horror studios are seriously in a tight spot right now, but honestly? The worst part is how some clueless Americans are totally obsessed with them—all they ever do is churn out endless remakes... I mean, seriously, how much longer can this go on?

And this specific movie? It wasn't even creepy. It was just kind of silly... and I am way too done with all those greasy teenagers and that predictable, overly polished Hollywood cinematography... enough is enough, really.

Here’s a little story for you:

Deep in the thick, dark woods, there lives a lumberjack. At first glance, he seems like your average guy, but it turns out he’s actually a total psycho who uses these weird telepathic vibes to control the local bears and other wild animals—they basically devour anyone who dares to step foot on his property. And man, when he starts swinging that axe, blood is spraying everywhere! 🙂

I didn't even realize there was a Japanese original until I saw the credit roll during the opening credits

The movie is just a total drag. It's uninspiring, slow, monotonous, features terrible acting, and honestly, the plot is just plain bad.

Hands down the worst thing I've seen at AMC Theatres in months—and I've seen pretty much everything lately. It’s actually worse than that mindless flick about robin williams and his family on vacation that wasn't even a real comedy.
