What’s your actual problem with using standard American English?

I mean, as a moderator, how can you back something that isn't even legal? To me, that just looks like you're breaking the rules—hope you realize that...

The thing is, you didn't really catch that you're jumping into a thread that wasn't even directed at you, so maybe you could just explain your position here instead..

Honey, I don't quite get how someone becomes a moderator—it's kind of weird, honestly—since they just ignore typos and stuff. You definitely deserve a promotion or something... anyway, here I am again, teaching you things. A simple "thanks" wouldn't hurt, I guess. And maybe I'll have to teach Nextdoor a thing or two about the law, since that's kind of my area.

And there you go again, popping up even though nobody actually asked you anything...
