Can someone help me out? An admin slapped me with a permanent ban and a 300-point penalty without showing any proof over six months ago. I was banned from posting for half a year, but once the penalty ended and I jumped back into the discussions on "Wood-Burning Central Heating Vol. 4," I got a DM from that same admin after just a couple of posts for absolutely no reason.

The same admin gave a completely different answer on another DIY and technical forum

My question is: does an admin actually have the right to set terms like this for a user? Or am I expected to just admit I'm wrong and stop talking about the topic, or maybe admit my ignorance, instead of being allowed to provide actual examples to prove I'm right?

I'll jump in here with another question: what’s the most direct way to hit up a moderator—specifically via PM, rather than sending some formal email? I'm looking to reach out to one of the female moderators, assuming we actually have any polite ones around here. I've checked the settings, but I can't find a single button that makes sense. 🤷

It’s pretty straightforward, really—just like anyone else on the site, you can always just shoot the moderators a private message (PM). 🤷

Just adding one more thing to my question while I wait to hear back.
To back up my claims about why these connections work, I’m attaching some proof. This workshop is being held in a modern setting, and I'll be posting it online later so anyone can study the brochure for free. Hopefully, it helps people pick up some new skills regarding 21st-century heating systems.
Workshops are announced about 6 to 8 months ahead of time, so anyone looking to pick up some new skills is more than welcome to join. I've also shared plenty of technical manuals here before. Check out this technical magazine from Caleffi—it’s actually pretty useful if you're looking to dive deeper into the specs..
I just wanted to jump in and weigh in on the issue the other guy brought up—honestly, I felt pretty much the same way about it. I honestly don't know how people can deal with all that noise. It’s just way too much for me.
I put together this diagram myself, and I made sure it follows all the professional standards and local building codes to the letter.
Unless @goranto hadn't gone and questioned everything in that last post—which I actually reported for being an insult to me, everyone else mentioned, and the whole damn country.
I honestly don't know why I even bother trying to explain this stuff. It feels like I'm talking to a brick wall sometimes.
Next up, we've got @mbukal just throwing stuff out there based on nothing but pure hearsay, without even bothering to back it up. I honestly don't know how anyone manages to stay sane with all this chaos going on. It feels like we're just spinning our wheels. The other one’s pretty much the same.
I honestly think I might be overthinking this one, but it feels like we're all just spinning our wheels here. Just my two cents.I actually already replied to that guy's question about making the connection before he even posted that.
Honestly, I don't think we should even be putting up with posts like that.

@ Frank Lee, you received that ban quite deservedly, though I suppose it took far too long to actually happen... You continue to push your own particular version of reality, acting under the assumption that you alone hold the truth and that your responses carry some singular weight that others lack. As I previously noted in response to your objection, everyone—yourself included—must face the necessary consequences if any rules outlined in the AFL-CIO guidelines are violated. One only needs to look at the opening post in the thread wood-burning central heating Vol. 4 - read 1st post
to see this clearly. I acted accordingly based on your report regarding the user goranto
.
I suggested that you review your own past posts and those technical diagrams you used to upload in the thread, where you stubbornly rejected every well-meaning suggestion from other members until the entire discussion lost its direction and purpose. You provoke these conflicts and then claim everyone else is at fault, playing the part of the innocent bystander whom no one on this forum seems to understand

I shared the evidence from those professional journals, but just like how people who hate new ideas shot them down before, it’s the same story with the hot water recirculation issue and our debate—which you ended by basically saying you didn't believe my sources. That Caleffi publication is written by actual experts, so it’s what I trust. Those vague scenarios you're bringing up without any specific details on what's actually broken feel more like hearsay to me. Every comment is pretty much pointless unless you give me a detail I can actually explain.
I kept things respectful and took the heat for it.
Since you already replied to my second post, you might as well answer my first one here so we can settle this once and for all: what's right, and does everyone have the same rights? My tone might change going forward, but I'm not going to sit here and let you or anyone else call me out for no reason. Discussion is how we solve problems.
I'm still looking for a decent, tolerant conversation with everyone else on the forum. I'm done putting up with personal attacks on my views; I missed my chance to let it slide the first time. 🙂
