Don't bother engaging. There’s always going to be an idiot somewhere—it’s better to just ignore them.

You people are quite the crowd; this forum should really just be an outlet for extra entertainment.

Just walk away; you don't need that kind of nonsense in your life.
Get on your bike and enjoy the ride instead of wasting your breath on idiots.

They aren't going to delete your account or your handle. Just log out and move on... A few months back, I was just as heated about certain moderation calls. I actually demanded they wipe my profile, even throwing around threats of lawsuits and posting similar nonsense in the ban threads—stuff they just scrubbed without a second thought. Eventually, I cooled off. For a while, I didn't even visit the site unless I stayed logged out. Now, when I do drop by, I stay anonymous. I finally logged back in after two months, but I don't engage in the debates, nor do I feel any urge to reply to anyone. All that's left here is your username; you haven't shared any sensitive info like an SSN or anything else. As long as you weren't oversharing personal details like some of those naive users (I was always careful), there's nothing to worry about. You just walk away, and that's that.
