Hello. I am Maya, and I have a question. 😢
I have used cocaine on several occasions. Since I am planning to get pregnant this June, I am wondering how long it remains in my bloodstream and generally in my system, specifically regarding the baby's health?
How much time will my partner and I need to detox so we can be certain?
Thanks in advance. A friend from Washington, D.C. recommended this forum to me; it's quite good.
Regards.

It clears out of your system pretty fast, too. We're talking a half-life of maybe 60 to 80 minutes. But honestly, the real kicker is that it’s been proven to mess with fetal development.

I've used cocaine multiple times... and let's say I'm planning to get pregnant this June... so I'm wondering how long it stays in my blood... or just in my system in general... because of the baby's health?
How much time do I and my partner need to detox so we can be sure?
Thanks in advance... you guys have an awesome forum, a friend from Washington, D.C. recommended it to me!
Cheers!

Honestly, if I were in your shoes, the first thing I’d ask myself is whether I’m actually mature or responsible enough to take on a sacred duty like motherhood. To me, you seem incredibly reckless regarding your own health, and this sudden concern for the baby's wellbeing feels totally hypocritical.☕
I know traces of drugs can be detected in the blood for a very long time after use. The real question is what that specific "threshold value" is that could cause actual damage.
If it were me, I would focus on a deep cleaning of both my body and my personality and attitudes before deciding to take such a massive step in life.
Good luck!

It’s a heavy responsibility, not a hobby. From where I’m sitting, you seem pretty reckless when it comes to your own well-being, so this sudden, intense concern for a baby’s health feels incredibly hypocritical.☕
Look, I already know that drugs can linger in your bloodstream in tiny traces for ages after you've used them. That’s just science. My real question is: what exactly is that "threshold" value? You know, that specific number where those trace amounts actually cross the line from being harmless leftovers to causing real physiological damage?
If I were in your shoes, I’d start by doing some serious deep cleaning—not just on your physical self, but on your entire personality and mindset—before even thinking about taking a massive leap like that.
Good luck!

Come on, give me a break. Just do it already! 🙂Look, whatever she and her partner decide to do is strictly their own business. This woman didn't show up here just to have people lecturing her on how to live her life! Honestly, even the fact that she’s asking this question proves she’s actually being responsible.

If I were you, I would definitely work on a total deep clean of both my body and my personality and mindset before making such a huge life decision.
Good luck!

Don't even sweat it, honestly, I know two kids who were conceived while their parents were using ecstasy🙂
Everything turned out great, and as far as cognitive stuff goes, they seem totally fine since they're already starting first grade now🙂

Cocaine creates an incredibly potent psychological addiction. Coming down from cocaine leads to depression and other negative emotions, making the craving to use again extremely intense. Once usage becomes a habit, quitting is incredibly difficult; withdrawal symptoms include intense cravings, apathy, depression, paranoia, suicidal ideation, loss of libido, and insomnia. Often, more cocaine is consumed simply to avoid these effects.
Research has shown that animals with access to intravenous heroin will consume it indefinitely, yet they still find time to eat and sleep. If, however, they have access to cocaine, they will use it constantly, neglecting almost everything else. As long as they are physically capable, they will continue seeking new doses. Within a few weeks, or even days, they will lose significant body weight, and within a month, they will die.

If both partners are using or have used cocaine, I believe one should carefully consider the implications for offspring and consult with a psychiatrist and a gynecologist first (since we are all "lecturing" here 🤷).
Ultimately, no one can stop them; everyone decides for themselves and their children.

It's pretty much the same way you're calling me out right now😳.
The woman came looking for advice and a perspective, and I gave it to her straight—with good intentions, based on what I believe is right, and how I’d talk to my own family. If you have an issue with that, you've got a massive problem🙂

p.s. honestly, I'm wondering how the forum rules and the US Constitution generally work regarding how it's considered fine to indirectly mention on a public forum that there's no harm if you hit someone with a cocktail or whatever else and then go on to birth a perfectly healthy baby👍👍👍

Look, she came to the health forum, not a sermon on religion 😕

How can you even show your face acting all high and mighty and attacking someone who was just being responsible enough to ask about the medical fallout from her cocaine trip??
Can you seriously read her post and assume she’s some kind of addict?? Even if she were, that’s nobody’s business but hers, because that's totally not what this discussion is about

Honestly, we live in such a clueless society thanks to these brainwashed religious fanatics who preach absolute nonsense without having an ounce of common sense

And honestly, if anyone is trying to pin some kind of legal trouble on me, they can forget it because I haven't gone around promoting drug abuse anywhere!

Lisa Martin50 said:Look, she signed up for health and wellness, not a theology lesson. 😕

How can you even look at yourself in the mirror, acting all high and mighty and spitting venom at someone who actually had the guts to step up and ask about the medical fallout from their cocaine trip?
Can you actually tell from her post if she's an addict? Even if she is, it’s got nothing to do with me or you—the conversation isn't even heading down that road.

We’re living in a truly mindless society, all thanks to these brainwashed religious fanatics who preach absolute nonsense while contributing absolutely nothing of value to the world.

Look, lady, just take a second, catch your breath, and back off for a minute, okay?😉
And you’re going to try and explain to me how drug abuse has anything to do with faith? Seriously? Besides, who even brought religion into this conversation in the first place?
Look, we’re strictly talking about healthy, logical accountability toward one's own self and physical well-being here. It doesn't matter if you're dealing with someone struggling with addiction or not—who gets to define what an addict even is, anyway? Who decides where those labels start and end?😕Look, I honestly don't see how you can claim someone is an addict without them being hooked on something specific. In that regard, your whole argument just doesn't hold water.
I’m not even going to dignify that bolded nonsense with a comment.🙂
Lisa Martin50 said:As far as any potential legal liability goes, let’s get one thing straight: I haven't spent a single second promoting drug abuse.

Since your entire analogy is completely out to lunch, I'm not even surprised you didn't realize what you were actually doing.☕

oh, so now we're all supposed to care about your "healthy and logical responsibility toward your own self and your body"
is that really how this thread is titled??

you honestly don't have a clue what you're talking about when it comes to how drugs might affect offspring, because you've never even lit up a joint, never even done a line, and you probably haven't even had a real night out... let alone actually met someone who experiments with substances without being an addict. but I have, and I am way smarter than you on this subject since I've got way more life experience and professional expertise regarding drug abuse, federal criminal regulations, and the rehabilitation of addicts and recreational users—which is how our US drug control laws categorize them.
so yeah, nobody asked for your little moral lecture.

you don't know the difference between an addict, a recreational user, or just some weekend experimenter, you don't know a single harm reduction strategy or anything about primary and secondary prevention, and I seriously doubt you've ever even glanced at a social study or research paper regarding substance abuse, whereas I definitely have! I'm actually writing one right now!

Lisa Martin50 said:well, does this thread title actually read "whatever my healthy and logical responsibility toward my own self and body might be"
is that what we're doing here??

You aren't even remotely qualified to lecture anyone on how drugs might impact offspring, because you’ve never touched a joint, never snorted a line, and you probably haven't even had a real night out... let alone seen someone experimenting with substances without being a full-blown addict. I have, and frankly, I'm miles ahead of you on this topic because I possess far more life experience and professional expertise regarding substance abuse, federal drug laws, and the rehabilitation of both addicts and recreational users—as defined by our national drug enforcement statutes.
So, spare us the moralizing. Nobody asked for it.

You don't know the difference between an addict, a casual user, or a weekend experimenter. You don't know a single harm reduction strategy, you know nothing about primary or secondary prevention, and I highly doubt you've ever cracked open a single sociological study or research paper on drug misuse—whereas I have! In fact, I'm currently writing one!

🙄🙄🙄☕
Maybe try "reading" a book on the culture of dialogue and the right to express an opinion in public. You're failing miserably at it.
As for your little rant about me being incompetent and your attempt to act superior—that just speaks to your own personal upbringing and religious background. And as for preaching? You're the only one doing it here. Aside from that, you're just trolling and heading straight for the exit. 😍
Just back off, go roll your own joint, hit a line, or go find some IV fix; just go get more educated and please, for the love of God, leave me alone, honey.
hehehe 👋
I'm over and out on this subject.

Honestly, my whole "uber-man" energy was basically just a necessary move to kick you off this thread!
Honestly, it just totally breaks my heart when I feel like I'm being forced to shove my own specific views on body image and reproduction down everyone's throats, especially since half of America is basically being told they aren't even morally fit to bring kids into this world based on those standards!

Sorry, but it honestly physically pains me when I'm forced to impose my own views on bodily autonomy and lineage onto someone else... by that logic, half of America wouldn't be morally fit to bring kids into this world.

Your "superiority" didn't "kick me off" anything—if anything, it just made me want to distance myself from you. I have a habit of steering clear of narcissistic, self-destructive types.😛

Best!

Cocaine leaves your bloodstream pretty fast. The real issue is if you're addicted—whether it's mental or physical—because cocaine is devastating during pregnancy. The biggest risk is placental abruption. And depending on how you're using, you could be looking at other serious complications like Hepatitis B, C, or HIV.

You should definitely try to find a rehab program or some kind of support to get back to a "structured" life. Good luck. And congrats on taking a massive step... you're actually starting to think about leaving the coke life behind... 👍

I just want to clarify one thing from that statement. I have tried it. I used it a few times, but I am not an addict and I don't experience withdrawals. We aren't junkies.
How many people have tried it and just stay silent about it? I think we can all agree on that.
I thought of coming here first because my friends speak so highly of this group. I didn't want to start any fights. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when it comes to "vices," smoking and drinking are vices too. The difference between light drugs and heavy drugs is just a matter of degree and method. There is a difference between trying something and indulging in something you know shouldn't be done, given the consequences we all understand.
I am fully aware of what cocaine use during pregnancy entails; I wouldn't dream of doing that. But again, I have used it, and precisely because I want the best for myself, my partner, and our baby, we wanted to ask those of you with actual expertise how long it stays in the system—specifically, how much time is needed for that cleansing phase.
Since I am a responsible adult and not an immature person, I am mentally stable. My doctor will be hearing exactly what I've told you.

Anyway, if anyone has anything else to add, I'd appreciate it...

Bye... 🙂

Greetings,

I find myself wondering—what exactly guarantees that the people participating here are truly knowledgeable?

With all due respect to everyone else, just because someone decides to reply and is willing to offer an answer doesn't necessarily mean they actually understand the subject matter they're discussing.
People here certainly have the heart to help, and they'll do so, 👍

However, it is certainly a wise move to consult with your doctor first.

Sorry, but it kills me when people try to force their own twisted views on body image and parenting onto others... based on that logic, half of America wouldn't be morally fit to have kids.

Are you kidding me? Honestly, I hope you're just some clueless kid still playing around with drugs and booze thinking it's all "cool," only to play the saint and start praying to God once someone points out how much it actually sucks. I've been there, so you're honestly hilarious. If you aren't just a kid, maybe go download a psychology textbook because you clearly have some stuff to work through yourself.
And to the OP, I’d suggest talking to an actual doctor instead of an online forum, especially when dealing with someone like deelayla who thinks it's fine because she knows "a couple of kids" conceived on ecstasy. Give me a break.😲😲😲😲
