The American soccer player John Doe died in a tragic car accident early Tuesday morning near Venice
The 23-year-old Sampdoria and Travis midfielder (with 50% ownership held by each) lost his life in a horrific wreck while heading to the hospital for a pre-season checkup before the Major League Baseball season. It happened around 8 AM on Tuesday near Venice when his Porsche had a head-on collision with an oncoming truck.
"Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends who knew him before this tragedy," Travis posted on their official site.
Mingozzi started out in 2001 with Ravenna, then moved to Perugia in 2004. A year later, he joined Sampdoria and made his debut in Major League Baseball. He spent the 2006/07 season on loan at Lecce before Travis bought out half of his contract.
