So, my eye started acting up last night—mostly the eyelid area—and it’s still bothering me today. The lid is slightly swollen (it was way worse last night), and there's this yellowish discharge building up in the corner. When I woke up this morning, my eye was basically glued shut by it. I had to rinse it out just to get it open. Something really weird happened last night, though; I pulled a bit of that gunk from the corner of my eye, and it stretched into this thick, solid string of the same stuff that was stuck under my lower lid.

Any idea what's going on?

A friend thinks it's conjunctivitis, which, as far as I know, isn't exactly a huge deal.

Your friend gave you solid advice, honestly. Just rinse it out with some chamomile tea and try not to stress too much about it 🙂. If it doesn't get better, maybe just head to the doctor? They can always hook you up with some eye drops 👍.

Went to the doctor for conjunctivitis. Got some drops, an ointment, and instructions to rinse with chamomile tea 🙂

Thanks. I was honestly a little freaked out.

Sorry, I'm a bit late to the party here. Sounds like it might be conjunctivitis... there are a bunch of different kinds out there, and they can actually get pretty nasty if you don't deal with them right away! So yeah, definitely go see a doctor. And please, use your own towel only—don't share. Maybe try some chamomile rinses or whatever, blah blah blah...

Also, maybe try to stay away from the computer screen for a few days!
