In about two days, I will be traveling to San Francisco to finally reunite with my mother. I intend to assess her current strength and her willingness to discuss her experiences. She is quite helpful via telephone, offering advice to anyone who calls, though she remains "technologically illiterate" since she doesn't use a computer. I will attempt to ask her to write down the essential details of her case when she has a moment, and then I shall transcribe them on her behalf...

Now, I am returning to the website to continue my research; kudos once again to you all... 😍

My mom passed away peacefully this morning.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone here for standing by me during one of the hardest chapters of my life.

abuxl, do you happen to know anything about leg cramping or twitching related to GBM? My mom is struggling with it right now, and I'm honestly at a loss for how to help her. I won't be able to check with her doctor until Friday. Is it worth noting that we recently dropped her dexamethasone dose from 8mg down to 4mg?

You are such a fighter and a truly wonderful person. Your mother had an angel right by her side.
I’ve read through everything you wrote, and honestly, your posts—along with everyone else on this forum—have given me so much strength and clarity.
We keep moving forward... on the path of hope.
And I believe, I know, that "on the other side," there is a world where love is just the way things are, and happiness isn't fleeting, but eternal. Your mother left her temple like a queen, in all her glory.

Please accept my deepest condolences.
I know I can't take away the pain or ease this loss, but watching how hard you fought to save her and extend her life has been an inspiration to me while I fight for my own loved one.
Don't let this loss break you. Take that same passion and energy you used to care for her and channel it into living the life you have ahead of you.

I’ve been checking in on this thread from time to time, and I have to say, I'm really moved by how you handled your mom's illness. I honestly think of you both every time I walk past your apartment building (I know from other threads we live in the same neighborhood).

We all face losing someone we love eventually, and when that day comes, I just hope I can be even half as strong as you were.

My mom passed away this morning.

Deepest condolences. Your mom lives on through you, and the strength you both shared is exactly what the rest of us draw from when we're fighting our own battles.

But if there is any solace to be found, let it be this: be grateful for the bond you shared—for the role she played in your life and yours in hers—and for the way she taught you to cherish what truly matters. It really is true. Reading your posts has been moving; seeing how you navigated that terrible illness was profound. You essentially stepped into her shoes to care for her, and we have all learned something from your strength. Truly, you deserve immense respect. You demonstrated, in the most fundamental sense, what it means to be a daughter. It is heartening to know that people as brave, patient, and resilient as you actually exist. I hope one day to have a daughter just like you. Please, take care of yourself now. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
