That’s really all there is to it. These kinds of measures are the only way to actually cut down on energy costs. Let’s be honest: green energy isn't going to replace fossil fuels overnight, but we can certainly tighten our belts on total consumption.
All public institutions and government buildings will follow these guidelines, which might just help shift this culture of mindless waste.
Maybe it’ll even trickle down to how people manage their own homes.

It’s a move away from that typical American consumerist mindset and toward a more disciplined, efficient approach seen across Europe.
I'm hoping this situation forces these necessary changes to happen faster.

While Europe’s LNG imports have soared by 49% since the start of the year, Pakistan’s imports have fallen by 15% and the country is now suffering blackouts.

It’s all fine, really. We can just find plenty of room to settle all those extra people from Pakistan in the economically booming parts of the Midwest.

And? 😁

Are some people seriously still clinging to this mindless mantra about exchange rates? For crying out loud... 😁

It’s honestly no surprise that Russia is in the mess it's in—when you've got nothing but clueless idiots backing them up at every turn...

The Euro is looking surprisingly resilient lately. It jumped from 0.96 against the Dollar all the way up to a very solid 1.00. Honestly, I’m having a bit of a moment here—it feels like a total flash in the pan compared to how things used to be. I mean, hasn't the Euro hit 1.6 Dollars before? Time really does fly, doesn't it?

😁

😁
It was actually worth less than the dollar when it first launched. Is that what you mean by a "flash" moment? 😁

Honestly, none of this matters anyway. It’s just noise for the uneducated masses and those pathetic little pro-Russia trolls—I guess they need these tiny wins to feel better about themselves somehow...🤣

So, what’s your take on this? Which economy actually benefits from a parity situation where 1 Euro equals 1 USD, versus one where the Euro hits 1.6 USD against the Dollar?

I’m not quite sure who you’re asking, but honestly, I don't really care about the context here. I just look at the historical charts and throw some numbers out there for us all to debate.

Every single economy is going to be feeling the fallout from the Fed's moves and these aggressive sanctions throughout 2023. If the Russian economy doesn't completely collapse, that war machine isn't going to stop grinding. And if Americans end up having to burn trash just to stay warm this winter, we could easily be looking at a return to those dark, desperate days. ☕

China basically torpedoed their own GDP in the final quarter by implementing those brutal lockdowns. Way to go... 🤦

Do you people honestly believe the crowd running the G20 is actually capable of handling anything remotely serious?

Everyone’s acting like this exchange rate is gonna stay stuck like this forever...

This kind of reminds me of that old debate about how devaluing the dollar would make our exports more competitive. So, I guess if products from the European Union end up being cheaper for Americans and everyone else, people will probably jump at the chance to buy ours instead.

The Ruble isn't set by the market—it's being held up by heavy-handed government control. Once it actually hits the open market, it’ll be worthless trash. Right now? It's basically just cellophane over the truth.

A strong dollar drives up imports, while a weak one boosts exports.

A weaker exchange rate is a massive win for exporters—it’s basically a gift to anyone running an export-heavy business or planning to scale up their international sales. And let's be honest, I don't see Germany complaining about that one bit, do you? 🤔

And what exactly is Dow Chemical supposed to be exporting if they don't get the North Sea pipeline online next month? You all seem to think the Euro is just dropping for the fun of it, or like some kind of joke... ☕

Russia will "flip the switch"—they’ve already made the announcement. And even if they don't, Dow Chemical certainly has enough cash on hand to go out and buy more expensive gas elsewhere. I'm not losing any sleep over their situation.

Then why don't you explain to us why the Euro is tanking? Take thirty minutes, go Google it, and actually find a real explanation.

We’ll finally know by March 2023 if that Wimbledon ban is sticking around for another year. On top of that, Paris just announced they're banning both Russia and Belarus from the 2024 Olympics.
