Whenever I try to save an image from the web, the Savannah dialog box just opens up completely blank, showing nothing but icons.
The image is at this link:

This keeps happening whether I'm using Opera, San Francisco, or Chrome.
Does anyone have any clue how to fix this? I've spent way too much time digging through random websites, but I haven't found a single thing that actually helps.

Sorry if this is a repost.

Thanks in advance for any advice or help!

Honestly, your best bet is probably just a clean reinstall or maybe a system repair. Something deep inside the OS has gone sideways—and you aren't going to find a quick fix for it because Microsoft is the only one who actually knows how their own code works... and they aren't exactly handing out the keys to the kingdom. Since Windows is such a closed ecosystem, you're basically stuck choosing between repairing it or starting over. If this were Linux, though? You could just head straight to the repositories and easily swap out the window manager package or the entire GUI without all this headache.

Try running sfc /scannow in your command prompt window

@ElonMusk
I was hoping for a more sophisticated, painless way to handle this than just nuking everything and installing a fresh version of Microsoft.

@Mephisto
I tried running cmd and typing in the sfc/scannow command, only to be met with a message saying I needed admin privileges—even though my account is the primary one and has full admin rights. I didn't bother digging any deeper into that mess.

Interestingly enough, the Savannah as window started working perfectly fine in all my browsers yesterday, so I can finally do what I need to do.

Cheers to Microsoft; who wouldn't love dealing with these constant bugs?

Anyway, thanks for the help and the effort.
