SD card not being detected?

So, I just picked up a used Dell Inspiron running Windows 10 and honestly, the thing is a beast—everything works like a charm. There’s just one annoying hiccup: whenever I pop in an SD card, the computer acts like nothing happened. It won't even show up.
Now I'm stuck wondering if I need to hunt down some specific driver or what. I've been scouring over on the manufacturer's site, but I'm totally lost on which actual driver I should be looking for
Anyone out there know how to fix this so my card actually shows up?

Maybe try selecting Windows 8.1 since there isn't a Windows 10 option, then just grab the card Reader driver

I don't want to start a whole new thread here, but I'm having the exact same issue... my SD card isn't being recognized, even when I plug it into my external camera. Ever since I formatted it, it's just gone. Same thing happens on my phone, too. I haven't even had this thing for six months... is it really possible it already kicked the bucket? 🤔

Format it to FAT32 on your computer
Then it’ll actually work on both your phone and your digital camera
