Alright folks... I wanna hear your stories and what you've dealt with regarding what I call "rounded shoulders." Like the name says, the issue isn't my back—it's my shoulders slouching forward. I'm 16, so it’s high time I fix this thing... and maybe get some pointers on how to actually do it? Thanks a ton!

How much time have you guys actually been spending in front of a screen over the last few years?

Nah, not really... I’m a total gym rat... basketball player, lifting weights, all that. I don't spend much time glued to a computer, but ever since I can remember, my shoulders have been super wide and it looks totally awkward! 😢

Man... you're tall...
What kind of gym workouts are you doing to build up those lower legs?
Also... since you're 16... are you hitting the gym on your own or is it part of some organized club program?

what kind of gym routine are you running to get those legs looking like that?

I'm all about those Spartan-style workouts... think pushups, pullups, basically everything bodyweight! That's like 90% of my grind right there! And nah, I don't do it through any club or anything!

What are you doing for your upper back???
I mean the muscles between the shoulder blades and up toward the neck...

If you’re actually going to bother with exercises, at least figure out why you’re doing them and what they’re supposed to accomplish... here, take a look at this link so you can see which muscles are actually working during pull-ups...
LINK

As you can clearly see, those specific muscles I mentioned aren't even being used in pull-ups.... yet those are the exact ones responsible for maintaining scapular tone and pulling your shoulders back and up.
And here's the thing... if you're hitting push-ups and chest work—which pull your shoulders down and forward—but you aren't doing any counter-movements, your shoulders are just going to keep slouching further and further forward.

Go ask a trainer to explain it to you... it’s honestly mind-blowing that they let a 16-year-old run wild in the gym without any guidance.... it isn't your fault, per se...

Like you can see right there, those muscles I'm talking about aren't even part of the pull-up movement... but those are the exact ones that keep your shoulder blades stable and pull your shoulders back and up.
And here's the deal... if you're just cranking out push-ups and hitting chest work—which pulls your shoulders forward and down—without doing the counter-moves, your shoulders are gonna start slouching more and more every day.

Seriously, ask a trainer to walk you through it... it's wild that at 16, they just let you loose in an American gym to do whatever you want without any guidance... don't beat yourself up though, it's not your fault...

Thanks a ton! 🙂
