Anyone actually own this thing? Does it really live up to the hype? I’m seeing mixed reviews online—some people swear by it, others say it's a total waste of money. I want to hear from people who have actually used it.
My main issue is my lower teeth are super crowded. Flossing with traditional string is a nightmare. This looks like a perfect fix, assuming it doesn't make my gums bleed. Looking for real feedback here.

A quick heads-up to anyone who HASN'T tried this yet but still wants to chime in: save it. Don't waste my time if you haven't used it.

I gave it a shot, but I wasn't really blown away. Honestly, I think the Oral-B Oxyjet is a much better product overall.
Either way, it’s still a step up from just using a toothbrush alone.

boldcyclist17, have you actually tried Oxyjet or are you just guessing? Asking because everything I read online says the exact opposite—that all the other brands can't touch this stuff from Walmart...

I've got one, and I'm using the OxyJet for both of them right now.

Hey, can you break down why OxyJet is actually better? Is it just a higher-quality build than a Waterpik, or does it use the exact same water spray principle?

The OxyJet actually offers two different settings.
One is your standard mode that shoots out a jet of water similar to a Waterpik, and then there’s the OxyJet mode, which essentially infuses that water stream with oxygen.
Since the whole point of these devices is to scrub away plaque from those tight gaps between teeth and other hard-to-reach corners—and let's be honest, plaque is pretty stubborn and sticky—I feel like the OxyJet setting handles it a bit more effectively.
That’s just my take on it, though. Either way, picking up either version is going to be a massive step up for your oral hygiene routine.

Tyler Booth3, personally, I find this to be an absolutely stellar addition to my routine. My dentist, however, remains somewhat unimpressed by the whole concept. When I broached the subject with him, he explicitly advised against it—oddly enough, a colleague of his over at a clinic in Chicago actually stocks them right on the counter. For me, it’s fantastic. It is simply a bit of a learning curve initially; you have to get used to the sensation. Water tends to spray everywhere, and food particles can end up scattered all over the place. In those early stages, I find it most efficient to use it while standing under the shower head.😬

I assume this is what you were referring to?

Yeah, that's exactly my point.
Did your dentist actually explain why they don't recommend it?
Look, just because they say don't use it doesn't mean they're right. My dentist tells me fluoride is fine and sees no issue with it, yet I haven't touched it in years. I only buy fluoride-free toothpaste now because I did my own research on how it actually works in oral care. Honestly, my teeth have never been healthier. His opinion was basically just a byproduct of what he was taught in dental school. Your dentist could be the same way...
