Well, look what finally rolled around—an American movie about a rock band.

Has anyone actually sat down to watch it yet? Because I just finished it, and honestly, I thought it was pretty solid. It’s a genuinely great comedy.

Can someone who actually watched this explain what's going on? Or just type out the whole thing, I don't care. I only caught a brief teaser that makes zero sense, but it looks legit. Apparently, the plot is set in Washington, D.C., and has absolutely nothing to do with the war 🙏

Just watched this movie! Honestly, such a huge, pleasant surprise. No cringey dialogue, great acting, just a solid story. Even though they labeled it a comedy (and there are plenty of laughs), it actually touches on some stuff we deal with all the time.
I don't really feel like recapping the whole thing here, but I'd say go see it. Such a breath of fresh air! 👍

Here’s a quick rundown of the plot.

The film centers on Electricity (John Smith), the frontman of a gritty rock demo band called When Dirty Harry Met Dirty Sally. In a desperate bid to fund their debut album, Electricity is willing to do just about anything—except, of course, sell out his rock and roll soul. However, the band's only real shot at making some cash is playing wedding gigs, which leads to a standoff with the rest of the group: his closest buddy Mario (John Duric), the good-looking singer and bassist Deni (John Glowatzky), and the totally checked-out drummer Slife (Harvey Keck). They all try to talk him into making the compromise. At first, he refuses to budge, but everything changes when his ex-girlfriend, Anna (Olga Pakalovic), drops the bombshell that she’s pregnant. Suddenly, deciding whether or not to play that wedding becomes the least of his problems...

...man 😵 just aimless wandering of the worst kind—the script is incredibly clunky (those dialogues? seriously? they try to lean on profanity to make everything feel "gritty" and authentic, but it just feels forced and hollow) and the acting is just mediocre. Honestly, I'm totally disappointed...

I can't say I agree with you regarding the profanity. 🙂
They captured how people actually talk in those circles perfectly. People really do swear that much; if they had cut any of it out, it would have felt completely fake.
As for the humor... I found it hilarious. For the same reason. I was actually surprised by how much they 😁 knew about certain specifics.

The movie was excellent, in my opinion. 👍

Okay, that's your take, I guess, though it honestly surprises me. Out of like ten people I know who saw it, everyone's been giving it really positive reviews. 😕

Yeah, I'm with you. The swearing, the slang, the way people talk in Washington, D.C. every single day... nothing felt forced or fake at all.

The critics seem to be saying pretty much that, so I don't really have any huge expectations going in. But man, that one scene from the trailer... you know the one? Where it’s raining in Washington, D.C. at night, and the camera just slowly pans up while a city bus rolls by at the bottom of the frame—yeah, that's the whole reason I'd actually go see it.

This movie is legit—a total breath of fresh air compared to the usual trash we get from Hollywood. I caught the premiere (they had it running in two theaters at once) and the crowd was absolutely loving it. Honestly, I haven't laughed that hard in ages, and let’s be real—I almost never bother going to the cinema for an American production.
The visuals are gorgeous, the camerawork is tight, the soundtrack hits the spot, and the characters actually feel like real people. The acting is top-tier and the plot actually makes sense for once. Definitely worth a watch. Some people might not get it, but hey, that's just taste.

The plot wanders through various genres quite a bit, though I honestly didn't find that to be much of an issue.

So, I’m hitting the theater tomorrow to catch this movie. Honestly, I've got a feeling it's going to be absolute fire.

Overall, it feels unconvincing and poorly executed. Given that the reviews I’ve been reading are consistently negative, and since there seems to be a consensus on this, I think I’ll just wait until it hits the streaming services.

Right, and you conveniently neglected to mention that the movie currently holds a perfect five-star rating on the site. Out of the four people who bothered to vote, every single one of them gave it a five.
