Here is a film truly worth your time. Much like >, it deals with spirits, but this one is "authentically" American (lol)—it focuses on local Southern voodoo. The acting is solid, the production design is top-notch, the atmosphere is genuinely unsettling, and I didn't spot any major plot holes.
I've always been fascinated by voodoo (specifically voodoo as a theory versus hoodoo as a practical tradition), and while I wish the film had dedicated a bit more attention to those specific rituals, it still turned out exceptionally well.
By the way, the film was created by the writer behind > and the director of >.
I'm actually trying to download the soundtrack via Spotify right now.🙂

It’s got this unusual ending that completely fixes my impression of the whole thing...

I just caught it at the theater and I don't regret it... Honestly, I had to take advantage of the chance to head over to AMC Theatres to see something for a record low price of $6.25... 🙂

Look, Kate Hudson is cute, she's hot, and she's generally alright, but the movie itself is total trash. 😢

I genuinely found the film to be okay, though I found myself gripping Henry Anderson47's hand so tightly throughout the runtime that she hasn't even complained about the bruises yet... 😬

What can I say? I've always been more unnerved by those eerie, mysterious sounds and that heavy, expectant silence right before the blood starts flowing than by the gore itself. 🙂

Give me a break, man. This movie was painfully boring and just plain stupid. I didn't feel even a single ounce of tension in any of the scenes. It’s just a weak story that drags on forever like a slow leak, and what do you actually get at the end? Nothing. It’s not a twist, it’s not shocking—if you actually fell for it, you clearly haven't seen enough movies to know how many times this cliché has been done to death. The only thing remotely redeeming was the performance by Hurt.

Look, Saw has a shocker at the end, but this? What did you actually gain? Why sit through the whole damn thing just to realize nothing really changed from start to finish? Plus, the movie is straight-up Nazi racist.

So you went to see it all by yourself—and you were clearly pissed off while doing it.

The movie is just boring. Even if you're liking the ending, it doesn't fix the overall impression.

I caught it yesterday. It’s a decent enough film, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it anything special. The concept feels incredibly recycled—honestly, we've seen this exact premise played out countless times before—but I will admit the atmosphere is striking, and the musical score is absolutely top-notch.

The movie is alright.
