Hey everyone!
I'll get straight to the point 🙂 So, over the last 10 months, I’ve managed to drop 100 pounds (thanks to acupuncture and a brutal 500-calorie diet). Now, the issue is the loose skin. Since day one, I've been hitting up facial specialists for electrical treatments, I've been grinding at the gym for the last three months, and now I'm getting ready to start swimming—which is something I really should have done from the beginning, but whatever, it is what it is 😢 Of course, I've tried every single cream, scrub, and useless little gadget under the sun, but honestly? It all feels pretty pathetic. Then again, I can't really know if those things actually made the situation worse or if they just didn't help at all.

So, if there's anyone out there who can give me some actual advice on how to tighten this up without going under the knife—mostly because of the risks and, let's be real, the cost 😢

Lay it on me, I'm listening

Just wanted to say huge congrats, seriously, great job!!!!!!!!!
As for the skin—I honestly don't know much to suggest besides staying on top of moisturizer, keeping active, and maybe looking into some cosmetic procedures🙂 .
How on earth did you manage on just 500 calories? Just be careful now... you really want to avoid that yo-yo effect👍

How old are we talking?
If you're still in your younger years, there's a good chance your skin will just snap back into place—provided you stay active, hit the gym regularly, and maybe incorporate some facial massage into your routine. But... if you've crossed that 30 or 35-year milestone, it gets a lot more complicated. At that stage, the skin's natural ability to regenerate starts to slow down significantly. It’s a bit like trying to fix an old leather jacket versus a brand-new one; once the elasticity fades, unfortunately, sometimes the only real solution left is surgery.

Man, I can't even tell you how tough this has been. On top of everything, I had to deal with surgery, which basically forced a three-month hiatus on my progress. So now we’re looking at a full year of this grind and I’m still not over the finish line. But honestly? I’ve completely overhauled the way I eat, and more importantly, how I think about food.
I’d be lying if I said I didn't have those moments where everything just falls apart and I end up cheating. I definitely slip up occasionally 😉 because, let’s be real, I am a total FOODIE 😁 at heart, but I’m hanging in there. I’ve still got 8 pounds to go, so fingers crossed this actually sticks 🙂

😢 31 years old, and your little post just went and confirmed everything I was already thinking. Honestly, I was actually hoping I wouldn't find anyone else on my side here, but clearly, I was wrong 😉

That’s why, when you're looking at dropping that kind of weight, you really have to approach it in stages. You can't just go rogue and drop more than 20 or 25 pounds all at once. In a perfect world? You’d aim for about 20 pounds every six months. It’s like building a house—you can't rush the foundation. Ideally, you’d do three months of strict dieting followed by a few months of maintenance, giving your skin a chance to actually catch up and settle into your new shape. But since the weight came off so fast, your skin simply didn't have the time to adjust to the new silhouette, and now it's hanging. Look, I'm not saying exercise, massages, or those fancy spa treatments won't help you feel better, but let's be realistic—don't expect them to perform miracles when it comes to tightening everything back up.

Look, I already know all that, believe me. But once I finally committed to Dr. Miller—you might’ve heard of him or his specific approach, maybe not—there was no turning back. Once you start this program, you're in it until you hit your target weight. And yeah, I get it, the weight drops off fast, but I had to do something drastic...

It’s just one of those harsh realities, isn't it? Drastic measures always seem to carry equally drastic consequences 😢

So, here’s the deal. If you're dealing with large areas of excess skin, getting it handled by a plastic surgeon is really your best bet. A dermatectomy—basically just removing the extra skin—is a pretty straightforward procedure, and you're usually looking at staying in the hospital for maybe two or three days tops. They’ll position the incision in a spot where it’s least noticeable, and they typically use intradermal stitches afterward to help keep the scarring to a minimum. You can even have it done under local anesthesia, which ends up cutting down both your hospital stay and the overall cost. Honestly, I’d suggest reaching out to a specialist in general and plastic reconstructive surgery. You can find some great ones near downtown Chicago, in the suburbs, or over by the hospitals in the metro area. For instance, if you head over to the medical center in the city (the green building), they have a plastic surgery clinic open on weekdays from 9 AM to 3 PM.
And seriously, don't sweat it! It's really not as scary as it sounds! 😘

I was just at Dr. Žgaljardić’s office over at Optima recently, and my sister was telling me all about those new lasers they just brought in... I think I even saw an article about his skin tightening treatments in something like Healthline or maybe WebMD
